Meet Linus - the lyre professor

Heracles and other first year of his family followed other Zeusias left their dorm, walked on the bridge and headed to the central castle Methonia. They were led to their classroom by their seniors. Hurriedly they found the way to have seats there. Heracles and Gwen sat next to the others while Amelinda sat at the table front of them. Heracles and Gwen made friends with someone around them and chatted with them in the time they waited for their lyre professor. The class room pushed open, a man in black appeared strode ahead the desk. He was a tall thin man who had long black hair and an angular face. Heracles realized him because he had seen him in the first day in the castle hall, he was one of families’ leaders. He kept standing at the desk in seconds looked over whole the class by his deep black eyes. They noise turned less noisy then turned quiet.
“First year Zeusias.” he said, “I am Linus, your lyre professor, also the leader of Herathyias. If you want to know, I am also the leader of red-armband team. My responsibility is to teach you and yours are to keep staying in my class studying all I tell you. Remember you are not expected to break any rule in class. Hope you all do it well because we have entire a term to pass together.”
“Please take out your book Art and lyre. I don’t want to see anyone forget your own book.” added Linus.
People managed to take their books out. Mutters also started appeared from them. “He told he was leader of Herathyia family right?” whispered Heracles, “Yeah, I also heard it.” replied Gwen. Why do the leader of Herathyia family teach lyre? It must be someone from Aresian family to become lyre professor. You know Apollo was the god who taught people to play lyre and he was one of Aresians’ gods.” said Heracles still in whispered voice.
“What’s wrong with you boy?” said Linus staring at Heracles, “What’s your name?”
“My name is Heracles.” Heracles answered.
“Heracles,” Linus raised his voice, “Do you have any problem as I become your lyre professor?”
“No, not have any problem professor.” said Heracles.
“It’s not same with the things I heard from you Heracles.” said Linus, “Whatever, one more question for you Heracles. What do you which god did create lyre?”
“No, I don’t know.” said Heracles.
“It’s Hermes, one of your family’s gods Heracles. However, the god who taught people play lyre was not him. Do you know why Heracles.” Linus asked again.
“I don’t know professor.” answered Heracles.
“It’s presented in your book Heracles. Please read it before you come to class. I will take five points from Zeusia family to remind all people to read your book before class.” said Linus looked over whole class.
“Heracles, please sit down.” added Linus looking him, “People opened your book page ten and start to study.”
Heracles was really uncomfortable. He felt Linus didn’t like him he talked to him by sneering words and cold voce and just took five points from his family. “Are you okay?” asked Gwen.
“No, I’m not Gwen.” muttered Heracles, “He seems not to like me.”
“I see.” said Gwen.
Their lesson took place in two hours and almost of the time was used to find out about the history of lyre from the first time it appeared to the moment. Though Heracles didn’t feel much excited with the lesson, he could realize Linus didn’t like god Hermes who had created the first lyre. He called god Hermes by some nicknames the cow thief, the god of thieves, the god of trickery and even told them about a story which happened great long time ago that no one could prove his words. It’s a story about childhood of god Hermes. According to Linus’s words, god Hermes had been a thief from his cradle who had stolen oxen from his brother Apollo, covered his feet by sandals made of twigs of myrtle then drove them away. He was the god who bribed an old shepherd named Battus he finest cow to keep his secret but he was also the god who turned back and changed Battus into a lump of touchstone. With Linus, Hermes only the god who had created the lyre as a toy he considered Hermes at that that moment as like a child who wanted something to make sounds. On other hand, he praised Apollo as the god who had discovered a great musical instrument from a child, had been generous to exchange his oxen to have it then teach others to play it the lyre. At last, Linus played lyre some music which he called the divine music sent to the gods and ended their lesson. Heracles didn’t understand much his music and he’s also in no mood to listen to it. He hurriedly left the place with Gwen and Amelinda, turned back to their dorm. See more here: Heracles and Nemean lion: Hippoocon land
