Chapter 3: Flying class (next 1)

“Didn’t you hear me?” shouted Professor Genevieve.

“I’m sorry, professor.” said Avery. He looked down. His face went much red.

“Oh – I don’t ask you apologize.” said Professor Genevieve. Her voice turned softer. Avery raised up. “Kick on ground. I want you to fly up.” she added.

“Uhm – how, profressor?” he asked awkwardly.

“Don’t worry boy. It’s too easy. You only need to kick on ground lightly then you will fly up.” Professor Fidelma encouraged.

A few boos came from the crowd the more he confused. “Oh, it’s not difficult at all.” said Professor Fidelma. She smiled brightly. Avery nodded obediently. He stomped down but it’s too slight. The wings on shoes only shook a bit then stopped. “Try again.” said Professor Fidelma softy. Avery tried again and that time he did better. The wings fluttered and brought him up few foot. He wobbled a bit but at last he got balance and kept staying still in midair. “Well done, boy” yelled Professor Fidelma. Avery staggered and quickly got again balance. He smiled happily. He kept staying there for minute then landed down, took off the winged shoes then turned back his place for others to come and use the shoes. After him Iphicles, his friends and some Herathyias walked up. Iphicles and others easily passed and turned back. As he went crossed Heracles, he took a look on him then strode off.

When all Herathyias were done that was the time for Zeusias. Few Zeusias ahead came forward then it was Heracles’s, Gwen’s, Amelinda’s and some other’s turn. Gwen was eager to go first. Heracles and Amelinda was behind. They came to Professor Fidelma who gave them pairs of winged shoes. Heracles got a pair of winged shoes then made his way stay in a row with others. It was a pair of old and rumpled canvas shoes having a little musty smell. It looked like old shoes except it had a wing shrinking into each shoes. Heracles bent down, put his feet into the shoes. The wings slowly spread out as he brought it. Then he straightened up, waiting for Professor Genevieve. Though it was not good-looking, Heracles had to admit that it really suitable and comfortable. He felt his body lighter.

“Are you ready?” said Professor Genevieve. “Kick on ground and fly up.” she added. As soon as she finished her words, Heracles and others stomped on ground. They all escaped from ground flying few feet up. The wings fluttered below. Heracles wobbled and quickly got balance after that. He turned aside saw his friend, Gwen who seemed not to get any problem with his winged shoes. He was dancing and moving side by side. He's having fun playing. Heracles took off eyes from him. He turned to the other side to see Amelinda but she was not there. Amelinda was still on ground awkward. Then in front of others’ eyes she stomped hardly on ground. Unluckily, it’s what no one wanted. One of her shoes spouted off thick smoke then the shoe zoomed up. Amelinda leg was tugged. Her body was fallen back but it couldn’t reach on ground. She was dragged away. “AAAaaaaaaa…” she screamed loudly. It’s too fast for anyone to react but Heracles. As like he knew it a long time ago, Heracles shrank then stretched out at one and flew fast after her. “Don’t scare. I’m coming.” cried Heracles. “Help me.” said Amelinda crying. The shoe still dragged zooming up. Amelinda’s head was down. Her hair was loose and messy. “Catch her, Heracles.” cried Gwen below. He tried to fly up but was not as fast as Heracles. “Turn back, boys. Your action are very dangerous.” the voice of Professor Genevieve on ground. Her voice was very thin and interrupted. Gwen stopped in midair looking up while Heracles still kept flying up. Amelinda’s shoe spewed out small clouds of smoke then stopped. It didn’t move up more and seemed to be falling down. Heracles kicked hard on the air. His winged shoes immediately sped up coming to Amelinda. He spread his arm and caught her. All people breathed out. Gwen laughed. “Well done Heracles. I know you can do it.” he said loudly. Then he relaxed his body and slowly got down. Heracles hugged Amelinda tightly in his arms. He could heard her sobbing and felt her body was trembling. “Everything is okay.” said Heracles softly. Amelinda didn’t reply. There was only her sobs. They slowly descend on ground away others’ place few steps. People hurriedly rushed toward and rounded them. “Everyone step back a bit.” said Professor Genevieve. Her scepter appeared on her hand. She pointed it to the shoes on Amelinda’s feet. “Approgeisi” she cried. A silver light ray came out from her scepter, flew toward her shoes, enveloped it then took it from her feet. In the time, Professor Fidelma had come to her and checked out.

“How it lucky! She is alright” she spoke up, turned to Professor Genevieve “But, I think we should stop the class.” spoke Professor Fidelma. Professor Genevieve nodded. “We should.” she said.

“Alright! The lesson will be end here. Everyone, go back your dorm and we will take her to health room.” she spoke up. People scatted. They still talked. The accident just happened made them so impressed. There only remained Heracles, Gwen, Professor Genevieve and Fidelma.

“You two go with us.” said Professor Genevieve. Then they all helped Amelinda go to the health room. Heracles and others came to the health room after minutes. They met Miss Gloria there. “What happened to her? Why does she look sick?” said Miss Gloria worriedly, “Hurry up. Take her in.” She made her way go ahead. “Put her down on the bed.” she said. Heracles and others helped Amelinda to lie on one of those beds there. “Please go out. I need to check her.” she said.

Then they all went outside. Passing the curtain there was Miss Gloria’s desk. They all waited there. Minutes later, Miss Gloria appeared. “How is she?” asked Heracles impatiently.

“Her ankle was sprained and her knee ligament was broken. It's quite serious but it’s okay now. She was cured and has fallen in sleep.” said Miss Gloria.

“Can we see her now? asked Heracles.

“Yes, you can. But, don’t make noise. She needs to rest.” said Miss Gloria.

“We will not. We go, Gwen” said Heracles. Then he and Gwen made their way go. They passed the curtain went in.

“What happened to her, professors?” Miss Gloria asked.

“She had an accident in flying lesson.” said Professor Genevieve.

Chapter 11: The gate (part 9)

A loud bag spread out above their heads. Two hooded cloak men lied quietly on ground. Roger walked to the gallery. “Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda, you all are here. It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.  Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.  “I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda. He turned to his coachman. “Find the way to park and make sure you can see us when we turn back. We will not here long time.” he said. “Follow your words, master.” said the coachman solemnly.
