Chapter 11: The gate (part 9)

A loud bag spread out above their heads. Two hooded cloak men lied quietly on ground. Roger walked to the gallery. “Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda, you all are here. It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.

Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.

“I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda. I need your help” he added. Thought she didn’t know Roger wanted to do anything, she followed him. They both walked toward Hydra dragon’s body. “Do you know the dragon called Hydra?” said Roger. “Yes, I know.” said Amelinda. “It is an immortal dragon. Do you know? I dont know why you could kill it but i think we should burnt its body.” said Roger. Then he made his way to go and collected the parts of Hydra dragon’s body. He pulled the head and the tail which were cut down and even the petrified cobra formed from its blood come to Hydra dragon’s main body and piled them up. “Burnt it, Amelinda.” he said. Amelinda bowed head, pointed her scepter to the pile. “Fountono,” she spelled. A brilliant red flame appeared, caught on whole the Hydra dragon’s body and started burning it. Heracles, Gwen automatically stood up, walked forward and saw it burning. They all stood silently there waited for the body to be burnt completely. After half an hour a big pile of ashes was created from the Hydra dragon’s body. The fire went out. They made their way turn back. Suddenly, they all caught the light spread out from the ashes. They stopped, looked toward. “What’s this?” said Gwen curiously. “Stay. I will take a look.” said Roger, walked straight. Ashes were still hot but it seemed not to affect him much. Roger came near. He took of one ax bringing on back and pushed ashes aside. A jewel was revealed. Roger used a piece of rag, took up the jewel having size of small pot in his hand. “It is so special.” said Roger. He observed. The jewel looked perfect having shape of an egg, no cracks or holes on and gave off a gentle green. “I will keep this thing.” said Roger again. He opened bag he brought on his belt, put it inside then hurriedly turned to Heracles and the others. They walked toward Lily who was staying by her mother.

“Could I help get your mother out?” said Roger. His voice was low and soft. Lily raised up, looked into his eyes for seconds. She bowed her head. Lily stood up leving her mother for Roger could bent down to take her up.

“We go.” he said. Then he stepped ahead. They all left.

A quick funeral took place after they turned back to Lily’s home. There had only Heracles, Amelinda, Gwen, Alice, Aunt Calliope’s friend, Eric, the centaur in the forest, the other friend of Aunt Calliope, Roger and Lily. Eric left after the funeral finished. He said he would leave the place then made his way go straight to forest and vanished into deep forest. No one knew where he would go and also no one asked him. On other side, the other turned back to Lily’s home and spent the night at there. Alice suggested Lily to go village and lived with her but she refused. She wanted to listen to her mother leave that place.

“Go with us to Hippocon. I will find you a place there” suggested Roger.

Lily hesitated, still didn’t say anything.

“Yes, come there. Hippocoon is really a wonderful place and we will meet the others often.” squealed Gwen.

“Come with us.” said Amelinda, smiling.

Heracles smiled, bowed his head.

“Is that bothering you?” said Lily.

“Don’t think about it.” said Roger. He smiled warmly. “We will leave in morning.” he added.

Luggage was piled up in front of house in morning. Roger, Heracles, Amelinda, Gwen, Lily and Alice were staying under the eave.

“Aunt Alice, please take care of White. I will come back.” said Lily.

“Don’t worry. I will take care of him.” said Alice, looked on her lovingly.

“Come visit my mom when you have time. I don’t want her alone as I don’t stay here.” she said. Some drops of tear appeared in her eyes.

“I will. She also my friend.” said Alice then she stepped forward then hugged Lily in her chest. He caressed on her hair. “Take care of yourself.” she added. “I will.” replied Lily. Some tear slid on her cheek. They separated.

“See you again.” said Alice, smiling.

“Take your all luggage. We go now.” said Roger. He put fingers on mouth and whistled. From the sky two small spots appeared. They flew toward them and gradually revealed their shapes. They looked like big deer but have completely white and have large wings. The winged deer swooped down, run on their feet few steps then stopped in front of the house. “Follow me.” said Roger. Then they all brought luggage on their backs, followed Roger to the winged deer. Roger helped Heracles, Amelinda and Gwen went on a winged deer then he and Lily walked toward the other. He mounted, handed to her. Lily kept staying on ground for seconds. She turned back, looked over everything then turned, grabbed on Roger’s hand and mounted on the winged deer. “Go!” the voice of Roger coming out. The winged deer run few steps on ground, spread their wings then flew up to sky.

“Take care of yourself.” said Alice.

The shapes of them gradually disappear.

“Do you believe me?” said Heracles seriously glaring on his friend. Look into Heracles’s eyes, Gwen had never seen he is so serious. Still kept silent, he bowed his head. “Will you follow my words?” asked Heracles again. “Yes, I will. But, can you behave as usual, Agassi? You make me a little scared.” said Gwen. “Listen to me Gwen.” said Heracles, hurriedly left the bed coming to the clothes hanger, “You’re Gwen and I’m Heracles. They are our names. They don’t change though others call us by anything.” he stressed, his hand grabbed on his clothes and managed to put in it, “It’s very difficult for you to accept it now” he lowered his voice, “but we have been enchanted. That’s why you and even I can not remember ourselves. Now I can not help you to remember all the things right at one. I only can tell you little by little. However, it took us much time while we don’t have. Amelinda is in danger. We have to go to help her.” he turned back the bed giving Gwen his clothes. “Who is Ameninda?

Chapter 10: I am Heracles (part 2)

The last basket of orange was taken away. The men also vanished with the oranges. There were only children with Heracles, Gwen, Lily and Amelinda. They kept staying around the cart playing and talking. Lily and Gwen enjoyed participating with the children while Heracles and Amelinda seemed to be more silent.  “Agassi, come here and join with us.” called Gwen. “What do you want Peres?” Heracles said loudly. “Come here.” Gwen called again. Heracles left the cart, stepped toward Gwen. There some children were gathering around him. “What do you need Gwen?” Heracles asked. “We are playing a game. Don’t you want to join with us?” said Gwen. “What’s this?” asked Heracles. “Brother Agassi, don’t you see it?” said Gwen. He pointed to straight bamboos. Heracles looked. There had three high straight bamboos standing side by side. The bamboos were about two hundreds of yards away from their places. The middle bamboo was the highest. It’s about one hundred and fifty feet high Heracles guessed. The
