“We are not only the people. I think a lot of people like us.” said Heracles.
“I wonder whether Amelinda has come there or not.” said Gwen thoughtfully.
“She might. I’m not sure.” Heracles answered. “Anyway, where is it?” he asked.
“Let me remember. Someone has told about it.” said Gwen, “It seems at the seventh or eighth floor.” He frowned, trying to remind. “Who has told? I don’t remember. We might get some instruction on the way we come to there.” he continued saying alone.
“Maybe, we should ask someone.” Heracles spoke up, “Anyway, try it ourselves first. It’s only in somewhere on upper floor.”
“Uhm – let try it first.” said Gwen.
He and his friend, Heracles had gone in Castle Methonia. They followed the wide staircase stepping up. The staircase led them up, passing long and wide corridor then led up other floor. They stopped at the seventh floor to take a look. Going along the corridor, Heracles and Gwen opened each room to find out whether it’s the community library or not. The corridor was long and many rooms were along. It took them a bit time. “Gwen,” Heracles called softly, “Come here.”
At a corner, Heracles found a hallway hidden there. If anyone didn’t notice, they would not see. It was narrow and not too long but he couldn’t see what at the end was. A white bright light at the middle of the hallway made he didn’t see anything after it. “What’s up?” asked Gwen, approaching.
“Look! What is it?” said Heracles, hinted to the light source which was slowly moving in a circles. Gwen’s face turned dull in seconds, looking inside. “Dunno,” he said. A fascinating feeling that cannot be described in words came from it. Heracles stepped forward then Gwen was after him. They continued walked ahead. Heracles came to the light source first. He raised his hand out reaching. His hand sank and then disappeared inside the light source. It seemed to be blank there. Heracles touched on nothing. Gwen came. He also raised his hand up and touched on it, having same feeling with Heracles. Then they both stepped ahead, walking cross the light. The rest of the hallway is on that side and at the end of it was a door. It was an old bronze door with intricate motifs. Standing out seconds, Heracles pushed open the door. A room appeared in front of them. It was quite dark because all windows were closed. Heracles and Gwen walked in. The room was very large but also strange. There had nothing inside but a large mirror and burning candles hanging at the end. Heracles and Gwen turned to the others then they both walked forward. They stopped at front of the mirror looking on the mirror. It reflected their images. Seconds later, their images were smashed then on the and instead of them, an image of deer appeared. Heracles had never seen any deer more beautiful than it. It had large golden antlers and hooves of bronze. The deer was running, very fast as though it was running away something. Later, the image vanished and another image appeared. Still the deer but in difference way, it was injured and couldn’t run. The deer limped and then lied down by a large tree then turned and looked straight toward Heracles and Gwen as though it knew they were there. Heracles was impressed by its eyes very calm. Then the image also disappeared after seconds. The mirror reflected their images again. It didn’t change after that. They stayed at there for minutes but nothing happened. The attraction of the room was also vanished. Heracles turned to Gwen, felt difficult to understand. “What just happen? Why did we come here?” he squealed.
Gwen shook his head. “I don’t know. It seems the mirror called us.” he said.
“Weird!” snapped Heracles. He turned around. The room gave him an old and cold feeling. He really didn’t want to stay there. “We should leave. I don’t like this place.” he said.
Gwen nodded. They turned then strode out the room. The bronze door was gently closed. The light was still there at middle of the hallway moving slowly in circles. Heracles and Gwen turned to the others. They were hesitated in seconds. Later, they both stepped ahead. They broke pass the light and then got into the other side of the hallway. No one talked to the others. Heracles and Gwen hurriedly found the way left the hallway coming to the corridor. It seemed very few people go around the place. They didn’t see anyone from the time they started wandering on the seventh floor. They got farer away the hallway, keeping going along the corridor. The staircase was in front of them. Suddenly, a shape of person appeared. Heracles and Gwen startled, stopped at one. A couple of dark eyes stared at them. “What are you doing here, boy?” a cold voice spoke up. It belonged to Professor Linus.
“We are looking for the community library.” Heracles spoke up.
Professor Linus narrowed his eyes looking on him. “What do you find the community library for?” he asked.
“We need to come here to borrow books for this term.” said Heracles grimly.
Professor Linus narrowed his eyes again. He kept looking on them for seconds. “The community library is not there. It is on the eighth floor.” he said, still coldly.
“Thank you, Professor.” Heracles said. He hinted Gwen to leave. They strode pass Professor Linus and planned to step on the staircase. “Wait!” Professor Linus spoke up. Heracles and Gwen stopped. They turned. “Is there something wrong, Professor?” asked Heracles.
Professor Linus stepped forward. “Did you step from the corner?” he asked.
“No, we didn’t. We just came here.” snapped Heracles.
Professor Linus glared on him. “Don’t let me know that you lied.” he said. Then he made his way stride off. Heracles breathed out he relaxed his body. “Why does he care much where we’ve been?” Gwen spoke up.
