Chapter 1: The All-For-You shop (part 4)

“Sorry lady, gentlemen,” said Chun again, “Do you hear me?”
“Sorry, we didn’t pay attention to you. It’s because of things there. They are so beautiful. We were overwhelmed.” explained Amelinda.
“Oh – It’s really no problem. I can understand it.” said Chun, “I guess that this is the first time you to a place like this. Everyone who came here for the first time acted like you.” he added, still with his friendly smile.
“Yes, this is the first time. We are preparing for our journey tomorrow to Hippocoon and enjoy our first year here.” said Amelinda happily.
“So I was right.” said Chun, laughing, “Welcome your first time here. May I call you, lady?”
“Amelinda” said Amelinda, “My name is Amelinda.”
“And you two, gentlemen?” said Chun, turning to Heracles and Gwen.
“I am Heracles; I am Gwen.” said Heracles and Gwen in turn.
“Oh – Amelinda, Heracles and Gwen; they are all very nice names. I like them.” said Chun. He looked at them and friendly smiled again.
“Thank you.” they all replied.
Chun smiled, “Uhmmm- as you see everything here is clothing. It also your uniform at Hippocoon.”, said Chun. He walked forward and hinted them to follow him, “There have two types of uniforms. One is used for class lessons and the other is used for outdoor lessons. They used to have only one design for many years. But, recently we had great designers who made the uniforms turn more beautiful, comfortable and can protect us in more safety. We are proud to call the new uniform fashion. You can see them on the sides. Eye-catching, aren’t they? Of course,” Chun continued talking, “All our fashion uniforms are accepted in Hippocoon. Therefore, you don’t need to worry anything, just choose things you like and if you don’t want them, you also buy classic uniforms.”
“Here uniforms for boys.” Chun stopped, “Let choose for yourself what you like. I'll take Lady Amelinda to the ladies area. I hope as I come back, you both have chosen your desired uniforms.” he said, turning to Heracles and Gwen and smiling. Then he turned to Amelinda. “Please follow me, Lady Amelinda.” he added.
Then Chun left. Amelinda was right after him. There only Heracles and Gwen stayed between racks. Surrounding things looked like outdoor uniforms. Heracles saw arm guards, leg guards, body guard, boots and tight-fitting shirts in many styles. They are all really beautiful. Gwen immediately strode along the racks, eagerly looking forward his uniforms. Heracles also didn’t stand still. He moved. Leather, iron, copper, silver he walked while observing set of outside uniforms sides. Nothing had caught his attention here yet.
“Heracles! Come here.” the voice of Gwen few steps away.
“What’s going on?” asked Heracles.
“There is something great here.” replied Gwen.
Heracles walked quickly. When he came to his friend, he was leaning close to a four-sided glass cabinet. It stood alone in the center of outdoor uniforms. Inside it displayed a set of gold armor, gorgeous and beautiful. Gwen couldn’t seem to take his eyes off it. He’s still leaning on glass observing. “It’s splendid, right?” he said.
Heracles nodded slightly. “It’s very beautiful.” he said. “But, it’s too splendid and heavy.” he added.
“You are right. It’s too splendid.” said Gwen. He took his out of the golden armor. “We should choose something else. However,” he raised voice up, “I still like it.” He turned and took another look the golden armor then he and Heracles stepped. They separate. Heracles walked along the aisle. At last, he came to the end of the aisle. It is probably a place that is rarely set foot by anyone and the things there look very ordinary. Heracles looked around. He planned turned back but he caught something. Because of the weak light, he barely recognized thing there. Heracles walked forward to see. It was a set of leather uniform. Boots, shoulder and arm guards, they are the same, made of one material. Heracles didn’t know what it was but he knew for sure it was leather, black but glossy. Though, he didn’t know why, he felt he really wanted it. Therefore, Heracles took the set of leather uniform. When he turned back, Gwen had chosen him a set of armor and changed in. It was a set with arm, shoulder guards made of blue bronze, a pair of leather boots and leather body guard. It looked pretty eye-catching and suited him. He smiled as he saw Heracles. “Look! Is it nice?” he asked.
“Yes, it’s great.” said Heracles.
“Try yours and let see how you look in your armor.” urged Gwen.
“Wait a moment. I’m done right now.” said Heracles. He walked in a cubicle. Latter, he walked out. Contrary to his initial excitement, Gwen looked disappointed when he saw Heracles’s outdoor uniform. It looked rather normal. Except Boots, shoulder and arm guards which looked glossy and quite eye-catching. The body guard was bleak having dark brown color and didn’t match with the rest. It was made from the leather of some beast.
“You really want it?” he asked. He frowned.
“Yes, I will take it.” said Heracles.
“You like it.” Gwen raised his voice.
“It attracts me.” said Heracles. He walked to the mirror, looked him inside. Honestly, it didn’t look too bad at all.
“You both had your choices.” said Chun. He appeared behind them.
“Uhmm - you seem to have picked a pretty cool set, Gwen. It’s the best defense item we have now, protect you from fire, ice and almost physical attacks.” said Chun, smiling.
“Thanks you.” said Gwen proudly.
“Heracles, are you sure that you will buy it.” asked Chin.
“Yes, I am.” said Heracles decisively.

🦁 Detailed Analysis of the Nemean Lion

1. Description of the Nemean Lion The Nemean Lion in Heracles and the Nemean Lion is a legendary monster, based on the figure from Greek mythology but re-envisioned with unique features suited to the story's fantasy setting. Below is a detailed description based on the manuscript: Appearance: The Nemean Lion is described as gigantic , far exceeding the size of common lions, with "a coat of golden fur like living fire, blazing in the darkness of the Glimmerless Glade." The lion's fur is impervious to magic and arrows, protected by an "invulnerable hide," a distinctive trait from the original myth. Its eyes are "glowing red like embers," emitting a fierce light, and its teeth are sharp "like blades." Its roar is likened to "a storm turned into sound," shaking the entire forest and terrifying the characters. Behavior: The Nemean Lion is not merely a savage beast but possesses consciousness and the ability to communicate. ...

Lily — The Lost Heart

A Character Portrait from Heracles and the Echoes of the Hydra Lily is one of the most quietly powerful characters in Heracles and the Echoes of the Hydra . Though she appears primarily in the later stages of the story, her presence reshapes the meaning of the entire conflict. She is not a traditional warrior, nor a conventional magical prodigy. Instead, Lily embodies the emotional truth at the core of the narrative—the part of the world that violence alone cannot reach. Her story is inseparable from the Hydra, not as its mirror, but as its missing balance. Identity and Family Lily is the adopted daughter of Calliope , the White Witch of the Grove. Calliope rescues and raises her in seclusion, offering protection, love, and a sense of belonging in a world that would not understand her. Their relationship is defined not by blood, but by choice. Calliope is Lily’s mother because she chooses to be—again and again—placing Lily’s safety above her own life. Unbeknownst to Lily for most of ...
