Heracles stood up. He raised his hand upon the gem then his space ring light up. The gem disappeared. “I will keep the thing.” he said.
“Okay – it makes no difference if any of us keep it.” said Gwen. He grinned.
Then they left the kitchen coming to the living room. Not forgot to pull the curtains, Heracles closed the door and carefully locked it. Then he and Gwen strode back Castle Methonia. It’s almost the noon as they reached back. They hurriedly found the way to their family canteen to have the lunch. Many people of Zeusia family had been there. Amelinda was also. “Amelinda!” yelled Gwen. He raised his hand to get her attention. Amelinda turned. They hurriedly came. “Where did you go?” said Amelinda by shrill voice. “We went to Roger’s house.” Heracles answered. “What did you go there for? Why didn’t you come to library to borrow books for this term?” squealed Amelinda.
“Of course, we have reason to come there but we can not tell you in a crowded place like this.” said Heracles, lowered his voice. Amelinda raised up, looked on him. “Take your food, I will wait you at there.” said Amelinda. Then she made her way to a table nearby. Heracles and Gwen went to food stall. There still standing triplet sisters who were distinguished by different colored headbands. Heracles and Gwen quickly got their food then hurried made their way gathered with Amelinda. They sat down by her.
“What happened after we left, Amelinda?” asked Gwen curiously.
“Nothing special - The class was still going on after you left.” said Amelinda.
“What did you study?” asked Heracles.
“Professor Linus taught us theory about recall which presented in book then he played his lyre a bit in class and summoned some spirits looking like small ball and could glow.” said Amelinda. She stopped to nibble her food.
Gwen’s spoon stopped at midair. “Really? He summoned spirits in class.” he snapped.
“Yes, he is.” said Amelinda, chewing.
“We missed something interesting, Heracles.” said Gwen, turning to his friend.
“Yes, we did.” said Heracles. He still concentrated on his meal.
“Anyway,” Amelinda spoke up, “you both should go family library and borrow books. I will go there after lunch. Let’s go together.”
“Okay, we will go with you.” said Herales.
Amelinda took her spoon, helped herself to have a spoonful of porridge.
“Honestly, which spirits has Professor Linus summoned? How do they look like?” asked Gwen. He seemed very curious.
“They are tiny spirit shaped like a small sphere glowing. They don’t have much intellect, was summoned and hovered in classroom few minutes before they disappeared.” said Amelinda.
“Oh, he did summon glowing balls. I did expect more.” said Gwen disappointedly.
“Because it’s classroom, he could summon dangerous creatures.” said Amelinda knowingly.
“Maybe,” said Gwen, nodding. He took his cup of milk and drank. He was not interested with Professor Linus’s lesson more.
They finished their lunch after few minutes then they all made their way to their family library. It’s not the first time Heracles and Gwen came there but it’s the first time they came to borrow the books. “What books do you have this term Amelinda?” asked Heracles, passed the library door.
“Uhmm- as you know the book used in Professor linus’s lesson The holy sound Lyre by Romanos. We continued with Basic magic control but with the second book by Albertus Magnus; the history of gods and goddesses – the second book still written by M.Berens; Potions – The preparation by K. Lucretius and we have a new subject flying and the book for the subject is Basic principles of hovering by J. Aristotle.” said Amelinda.
“Flying,” cried Heracles.
“Yes, flying.” Amelinda repeated, “We are taught to use winged shoes.” she added.
“Oh, winged shoes - I am looking forward to it.” said Gwen. She smiled widely.
“You know it?” said Heracles, turned to Gwen.
“Yes, I know.” Gwen replied.
“This way, boys.” Amelinda spoke up, “Followed this way, you will meet the librarian.” she added.
“Don’t you go with us?” asked Gwen.
“No, I don’t. I need to find some books.” said Amelinda.
“So, we will meet you later.” said Heracles.
“See you later.” said Amelinda. Then she strode away walking in aisle between big and high bookshelves. Heracles and Gwen kept walking forward. After pass bookshelves, they came to a desk. A woman was sitting there, wearing a black shirt with white collar and putting on brilliant blue coat. She had thick dark red hair tied neatly at the back. The hair in front was parted aside, showing out his beautiful face but cold. She was reading a thick book attentively. “Sorry,” Heracles spoke up. The woman raised her face. She pushed her thick glasses up reaching to her slender eyebrows but sharp and longer than her eyes. “What do you want boys?” she said, looked on them by her big and nice eyes.
“We are Zeusias.” said Heracles.
“Yes, I know.” she interrupted.
“We come to borrow book for this term.” said Heracles.
“Which year are you in?” asked the librarian.
“We are in second year.” said Gwen. He puffed out his chest proudly.
“Uhm – the second year – let me see.” said the librarian. She raised her hand. A book from the bookshelf upon her head shook. Heracles could see the name of its spine, Ten thousand books of contacts. The book shook harder. It fluttered then flew toward her. It dropped down on the desk. It opened itself in front of her face. Words appeared in the blank paper. She read. “I am sorry. I have to tell you that books for the second year are not longer here. Others have borrowed them.” she said, raised head up looking on them.
“Impossible.” cried Gwen, “You said that all book for the second year are brought away.”
“They are.” said the librarian calmly.
“I’m sorry but do you have any way to get the books? We can no go in our class if we don’t have books.” Heracles spoke up.
“Let me see.” said the librarian coldly. She bent down, looked again to the book. The previous words disappeared and other words appeared. She dragged her finger along the words. Her finger stopped at middle of the paper. “Here,” she spoke up, raised head up, looked on them. “There had one place you can get the books. It’s community library. Let come there and borrow.” she added.
“Thank you.” said Heracles.
“Nothing.” replied the librarian.
Heracles and Gwen turned and left. The Book Ten thousand books of contacts shook again. It fluttered then flew up then landed on its position. It kept neatly there. The librarian bent down and continued the book she was reading.
Heracles and Gwen left their family library at one and found the way to the community library. “Do you think what the community library look like, Heracles?” Gwen spoke up. He made his way dodged a crowd of people who were in the opposite direction with them on the bridge.
“It’s also like our family library, isn’t it.” said Heracles.
“Maybe,” said Gwen, “We had stayed in here for a year but we have never step in it one time.” he added.
