Chapter 4: What Dean’s pub really is (part 1)

Heracles and Gwen were staying in Heracles’s room lying silently on bed. Then suddenly, flapping of wings appeared outside the window. They sat up. That was a hank fluttering outside. Heracles got out from his bed, made his way to go to the window then opened it. As soon as the window was opened, the hank broke in. It fluttered around in Heracles’s room few rounds crying. Later, it stopped upon Heracles’s bed dropped an envelope down then flapped away and disappeared after seconds.
Gwen picked the envelope on the bed up, turned its upside down to see the writing there.
“It’s from Roger.” said Gwen.
“Wait a moment. I will find Amelinda to come then we will open the letter together.” said Heracles. He strode off immediately while Gwen kept staying there waiting for them to turn back. Minutes later, Heracles appeared with Gwen. They rushed to the bed then quickly made their way to sit on it. Gwen handed Amelinda the envelope. Amelinda received and then three of them bent their heads together. The envelope was torn it; Amelinda took the letter out, unfolded it. They read together.
“Hi Amelinda, Heracles and Gwen - my little friends.
I’m really happy to receive your letter. Thank you for taking care of my health. I’m still fine and your professors are also healthy. Here has nothing happening in Hippocoon it is quiet and peace recently. Therefore, I don’t need to watch on The Hideout forest much, having more time with my hobby making lovely cakes. I'm really excited to wait for you to come back Hippocoon and enjoy them, the cakes I make. I’m sure it will happen that you all will like them.
About the things you ask me – magical stones, you can find them in Dean’s pub. He sells them. However, it’s difficult for you to buy them from him because what he does now is secret and illegal. No one is allowed to sell magic items in the world of the mortal. I know it’s hard but it's not impossible. Dean is cautious but also greed. If you can give him things he wants, you will get things you want. Hope you can get them, the magical stones.
At last, send my health inquiries to your families.
Roger.
The Wooden House
By the Hideout forest’s edge; Hippocoon land.”
There were all of the letter; Amelinda put it down, raised her head watching on Heracles and Gwen.
“Roger wrote that we can find magical stones at Dean’s pub.” said Amelinda.
“I see. However, I have never thought that’s illegal to buy and sell magic items here.” said Heracles thoughtfully.
“It’s not if we buy them in All-For-You shop.” spoke Gwen at one.
“Still you want to buy them? It’s illegal.” Amelinda stressed.
“Of course -- we want, right Heracles?” said Gwen quickly.
“We have thought of it before.” said Heracles thoughtfully, “Though we don’t know that buying and selling magical stones is illegal, we know surely that people will prevent us if we plan to a shifting-circle and come to griffin’s home. We have thought about it thousand times and then decided to do it in secret. We will not stop.”
“Alright, if it’s the thing you want, we will come to Dean’s pub again.” said Amelinda.
“The sooner the better” said Gwen, “I think we should go tomorrow.”
“So how’s about tomorrow?” asked Amelinda.
“It’s okay.” said Heracles. Gwen nodded.
“There has only a problem – how we can make Dean admit that he has magical stones.” said Amelinda.
“I think we…”
Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda kept staying in the room discussing. Amelinda only left after long time. She made her way back to her room while Heracles and Gwen on other side stayed still continuing conversing. The day quickly crossed after that.
Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda met again at next morning in the kitchen. They had breakfast with Heracles’ mother, Amelinda’s and aunt Lena. After the breakfast, they hurriedly got out the kitchent, passed the rose garden and quickly went to the road in front of the building where the coachman was waiting for them. They all stepped in carriage and then it rolled away. It kept moving straight to the town. At last, it stopped at the town’s square. Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda walked out, hurriedly stepped on ground then they strode into a walkway. The coachman also rode the carriage away after that.
Minutes later, Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda appeared in front of Dean’s pub. The pub still looked like as the before times they came. The barrels were still there standing in front of the pub under its eave. Some people made their way to come, walked in, ordered something to drink while some people made their way to walk out after drinking. They stood outside for a while they felt a little hesitant because the time they came there with another purpose. At last, they decided to walk in. Heracles broke in first then,Amelinda and Gwen after him. They walked straight toward Dean at one.
“Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda, why do you come here? Don’t you want me to help you send few more letters to Roger?” said Dean as soon as he saw them.
They all didn’t speak; they chose to sit on stools first. There had no person sat by the table at the moment.
“We don’t go to send letters now.” said Heracles, lowered his head down. He kept his voice low, “But we need you to help us one more time.”
“What do you need?” said Dean in curious tones.
“We want to buy something from you.” whispered Gwen lowered his body very low to the table.
“Come on boys. You make me much curious. What do you want to buy? Wine? It not for children but I can gave it to you because of our friendship.” said Dean laughing.
“No, Dean. We don’t want wine.” said Amelinda seriously. She stopped, staring at Dean. “We want to buy are magical stones.” she added.
The smile on Dean’s face disappeared completely his face turned stiff. He stood still there giving them an odd look and didn’t talk anything.
“Roger let us know that we can find them here.” added Amelinda, still kept it her voice very low.

Chapter 11: The gate (part 9)

A loud bag spread out above their heads. Two hooded cloak men lied quietly on ground. Roger walked to the gallery. “Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda, you all are here. It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.  Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.  “I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda.
