Chapter 7: The cursed land Lernaen (part 5)

Then they all walked heading to the wooden beautiful house standing at the edge. The door closed silently at the time they came back. Lily walked ahead then opened it. They all walked in.

“Do you come back - Lily?” the voice of aunt Calliope spreading out from the kitchen.

“Yes, we’re back. What are you doing mother?” replied Lily.

“I’m preparing for our lunch. Come and give me a hand.” said Aunt Calliope.

“I am coming mom.” said Lily. Then she turned to the others.

“Go with me Amelinda. Help mom prepare the lunch.” said Lily gently with a nice smile.

“I like it.” said Amelinda quickly.

“Heracles and Gwen,” added Lily, “Please help me to bring the oranges to kitchen, put them there. If you want, you can keep staying or if you don’t, you turn back your room. We will call you once the lunch is ready.”

“Okay, give us your baskets.” said Gwen.

“Right, here.” said Lily. She gave him her basket. Amelinda also gave her basket to Heracles. Then they walked in the kitchen together. As they came there, Aunt Calliope was standing by the fire stirring soup in clay pot. She still dressed in gray. Her long thick scarlet hair was tied.

“How do you felt after time working in garden? Do you like it children?” said Aunt Calliope. She turned back, looked toward them.

“It's quite interesting. We got many of oranges.” said Amelinda quickly.

“Oh I feel really happy because you like it.” said aunt Calliope, wiped sweat on her forehead, “There had some orange juice on table. If any of you feel thirsty, help yourselves to have some.”

“Yes, we will. Thank you Aunt Calliope.” said Amelinda.

Aunt Calliope gave them a sweet smile then she turned back with her soup.

“Help me put the baskets there.” said Lily, hinted Heracles and Gwen to a corner of the kitchen then she walked toward her mother at one. Heracles and Gwen followed Lily’s hint they walked to there, put the baskets down then made their way to the dinner table, pulled chairs out then sat down. Heracles reached for the jar of orange juice, took it then poured into four cups.

“Here you are Gwen.” said Heracles, pushed one cup to Gwen who was next to him.

“Thank you Heracles. I’m really feel thirsty.” said Gwen, picked the cup at one.

“Lily, Amelinda here is your orange juice. Drink a little.” called Heracles loudly.

Amelinda hurriedly came to them from the fire. “Thank you Heracles.” she said, taking on her cup then drank.

“Gave me the orange juice jar Heracles.” Gwen spoke.

Heracles put his cup down, grabbed on the jar then handed it to his friend. Gwen took it, filled his cup again and then took a big long gulp after that.

“It is rude Gwen.” Amelinda exclaimed, “Can you behave like others?”

“Sorry – I feel really thirsty.” said Gwen, grinning. He put his cup down on table; didn’t take orange juice more.

“Oh – don’t mind about it Gwen. We have much orange juice here. You can drink as much as you want.” said Lily. She appeared right after Amelinda.

“Thank Lily but it’s enough for me.” said Gwen.

Lily smiled. She picked her cup, drank. When she finished it, she put the cup down. “Stay here. I must go to help my mother.” she said and went with Amelinda.

Heracles and Gwen kept staying at dinner table for a while. Heracles still enjoyed his orange juice. He is not in hurry as Gwen.

“Don’t you finish it Heracles? I want to turn back our room and then take a rest.” said Gwen.

“Okay, I finish it now.” said Heracles. He took a big gulp drinking all remaining orange juice in his cup then stood up. He and Gwen made their way go straight to their bedroom.

Heracles pushed open the door, walked in. He and Gwen threw their body on bed at one as they got in.

“Do you feel homesick Gwen?” said Heracles, kept his eyes on the ceiling.

Gwen didn’t answer. He turned to him, looking for seconds then turned back taking the eyes on the ceiling again.

“Yes, I do but it’s not much Heracles. We have stayed in Hippocoon land for moths and we didn’t feel homesick. You will not feel homesick much, right? We’ve just stayed here for few days.” said Gwen.

“Hippocoon land is not like this place, Gwen. It's not much different from our house. It’s place we know exactly where it is and what do we do in there.” said Heracles, “But, this place is not. I am not familiar with it.”

“Honestly, I’m also like you, not missing home much but I feel jitter. People will be very worried if they don’t see us after the days. Especially my mother, I don’t want her to worry much.” added honestly Heracles.

“Come on Heracles. Don’t think too much. Everything's gonna be alright.” said Gwen.

“I hope you are right.” said Heracles, his voice seemed not heavy as before.

“Of course, it will and we will find the way to come back our home soon.” said Gwen hopefully.

Heracles didn’t object he turned into silence so Gwen also didn’t talk more. They kept lying on the bed in minutes. It’s so boring they both felt sleepy. Gwen took a long yaw and then Heracles but the lunch still didn’t start. They couldn’t resist sleepiness and fell in sleep.
