Chapter 4: The lyre professor (part 3)

“Well done boy.” said Roger congratulating him.

“It’s not easy for you as him Heracles.” said Roger, “Dragons are long-lived creatures and eccentric. Their long lives made them turn eccentric. Try to thing about some names special. It maybe act.” Roger advised.

“Yeah, I will try.” said Heracles. He raised his hand ahead, focused on his ring. “Draco.” he cried. Of course it didn’t act. He was also like Gwen trying name his scepter many times. His brain turned dull after long time trying to name his scepter.

“Nob,” he said hopelessly. Suddenly, something appeared on his ring hand. It was his scepter which was spread out red light. “God,” Heracles cried, “an odd scepter.”

“Haha” laughed Roger, “I told you dragons are odd creatures and even their blood is too.” he said, “Well, put you scepters inside your space rings. We will turn back and continue enjoying cakes.”

“I think we can not.” said Heracles, “It’s too late. We need to come back now.”

“Oh, I forgot the time. It’s nice to see you again here.” said Roger, “Visit to me whenever you want. In the next time, bring Amelinda with yourselves. I also want to meet her.”

“Yeah, we will” said Heracles and Gwen together. Then they left Roger’s house, hurriedly back to their dorm. They found the way to meet Amelinda after that. It’s not difficult to find her because she was still in their family library. Heracles and Gwen told her about Roger, asked her not to show her space ring front of others and advised her to name her scepter before their magic lesson. They kept stayed with her a little then left turning back to their room.

The next days, Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda had some history lessons which didn’t attract Heracles and Gwen much. They expected exciting lessons like magic lesion or something they could do outside. The class ended in the morning and they had whole the afternoon free time. Therefore, Heracles and Gwen had much time to wander around while Amelinda still kept staying in their family’s library. Heracles usually met Linus as he and Gwen were in the central castle. He used to catch the way to teach him something about rules of their school or places they were not allowed to come. Heracles didn’t like it meeting Linus on his way. On other hand, he always tried to dodge him whenever he saw his shape. However, Linus always caught up with them. Then the lesson Heracles and Gwen expected at last come. They had a magic lesson right before weekend. All first year excitedly brought their scepters to their classes. The lesson was held outside in the sward behind the castle. The first year of other families were also there. Heracles saw his brother Iphicles and his huge friends there. He also met Avery, Hank and his fellows and other familiar faces though he could remember all their names. They all took their own scepters and all of them had dew-crystal ball on the top. His scepter was too. Except the time the scepters was in All-for-you shop and the time they were named, the scepters of Heracles and Gwen were always blurred like that as though there had dew inside the crystal balls. Their basic magic Professor still didn’t come. Therefore, they grouped and chatted.

“What did you name your scepter?” asked Heracles turned to Amelinda.

“I named it Brilly.” squealed Amelinda, “It's short writing of brilliant. Do you see it the five-color feather is very brilliant?”

“Nice name.” said Gwen, “Honestly, how many times did you call it?”

“One time.” said Amelinda shortly.

“Are you kidding me?” cried Gwen. He turned to Heracles “Can you believe it Heracles?”

“What happen to you?” squealed Amelinda, “Why do you look too surprised?”

“Oh god,” lamented Gwen, ‘Do you know how many time I and Heracles did tried to call it? It’s about thousands of times.”

“Attention first year.” voice of someone interrupted their conversation. It’s Professor Genevieve who come with another woman.

“To avoid all of break which has happened before, we decided to teach first year outside and together few lessons till you all can control your scepters.” added Professor Genevieve, “I will be here with your basis magic Professor Fidelma and supported her few days. Now I will let her to work with you.”

“Professor Fidlema please.” she said turned to the woman standing next to her. The scarlet-hair woman next to Professor Genevieve walked ahead. “As like Professor Genevieve said, I am your basic magic professor. My name is Fidelma.” she said, “You must not know but few years ago, there had some people who lost control their scepters breaking something and made their friends in danger. On purpose preventing the thing happen again, we decide to teach you outside until you all can control your scepters completely.”

“First, I want you to name your scepter because only if you name it, you can use your scepters. Someone mays know about it but someone doesn’t. Please use you head thinking about proper names. If your scepters like the names, they will light up. Let do it. I and Professor Genevieve will stay here and support you if you need.”

The first year stood in rows, started naming their scepters. The placed turned noisy it was filled by peoples’ cries.

“Wingdog, Littlebird, Walnut, Doudog, Wingfish, Shado, Coldrice, Peack, Grinn…”, cried people. The place turned much loudly after that as some of them succeeded. They yelled, bounced up and down joyfully and because of it others turned much impatient they did it in hurry. It looked very slightly as some specters suddenly lit up and turned off. Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda didn’t need to do it because their scepter had their own names. They kept staying watching others. Later, they made the way wandering around. They arrived to Avery who was using much time to give other names to his specter.

“Does it act Avery?” said Gwen.

“No, it doesn’t.” said Avery.

“What is it made of?” said Heracles.

“It’s not exact but others told it must be a blood of a serpent.” said Avery.

“It’s not popular, blood from a serpent, right?” said Amelinda quickly, “I have read some of scepter made of it but they are very few and they didn’t give their owners much power.”

“Yeah, I know but it chose me.” said Avery painfully.

“Oh Heracles, you still company with the stupid boy.” Hank appeared, smirked, “How about you Avery, still can not name your scepter. I feel very curious that why the scepter chose you or it’s also useless like you. A useless scepter for a useless boy.” he sneered.

“Shut up Hank.” shouted Heracles, “Keep your mouth not to pour out dirty words.”

“I think you still owe me an apology from the last time we met.” said Hank staring at Heracles.

“He doesn’t need to apologize any of bastard.” squealed Amelinda.

“Yes, you’re right.” said Gwen.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, you’re all right.” said Hank, stepped backward, “Someone need lessons before they can study to apologize others.”

Chapter 11: The gate (part 9)

A loud bag spread out above their heads. Two hooded cloak men lied quietly on ground. Roger walked to the gallery. “Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda, you all are here. It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.  Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.  “I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda. He kept his head down, gabbed on door handle then pushed it open. He made his way step out landing on the ground first, Gwen right after him then stepped aside. He turned to his coachman. “Find the way to park and make sure you can see us when we turn back. We will not here long time.” he said. “Follow your words, master.” said the coachman solemnly. He leathered the horses riding away.  Hurriedly, Heracles and Gwen strode off. They heading to a narrow aisle between houses, where they found All-For-You shop last time. It’s always deserted inside the aisle every times they walked in it and didn’...
