Chapter 4: The lyre professor (part 4)

Then he stood still, raised his scepter heading to Heracles. “Pyrkagia.” he spelled. Suddenly, a small fire balled shot out from his scepter flying to Heracles’s head. Although it looked rather small and appeared harmless, Heracles was startled. He stepped backward, automatically raised his scepter. Though he didn’t know any spell and also didn’t say anything. A fire ball shot out from his scepter flying toward Hank’s fire ball. They hit to the others then they both dissipated.

“Very great Heracles, I don’t expect that you can use your scepter now.” cried hank, he smiled, “It’s explainable because you are also favored. But, I think you can’t do anything this time.”

“Gigantiaia sfaira,” cried Hank. A large fire ball shot out from his scepter. Heracles stepped backward again, raised his scepter again then a huge fire ball appeared. It was even bigger than Hank’s ball few times. The fire ball flew toward Hank, it swallowed Hank’s fire ball and turned larger, still kept flying to Hank who was stepping backward. His face turned white.

“Gouinmpol.” cried Professor Genevieve, pointing her scepter to Hank.

Suddenly, Hank’s body was pushed away. He rolled on ground many rounds away from Heracles’s fire ball. He fainted but was saved in time. Professor Genevieve rushed into them. She hurriedly walked to Hank, took a look then turned back Heracles.

“Stupid.” she cried loudly, “Do you know what are you doing?”

“Professor Genevieve,” said Amelinda, “It’s not his false. Hank attacked him first.”

“I don’t need to know who the person start first.” said Professor Genevive angrily, “Ten points from each one. The class finishes. Aresians bring your friend to health room.”

Some people of Aresian family approached then brought Hank away. Professor Genevieve walked right after them. They headed to the central castle. Professor Fidelma kept staying there, talked to them something then also left, followed Professor Genevieve to health room. People also scattered after that. There only Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda and Avery remained.

It made Heracles depressed because he just lost ten points from his family one more time. Furthermore, it is not because of his false. He even didn’t know why his scepter could shoot out fire ball though he didn’t do anything. He and his friends kept stayed there in minutes then at last, also made their way back to their dorm.

In that afternoon, a notification appeared on their family’s bulletin board to notify about this morning’s mess between Heracles and Hank. It made Heracles turned more famous but not in the way he wanted. People in his family looked at him and muttered something whenever they saw him. Even Leonard also made his way to meet him and have some conversations. Heracles felt really uncomfortable in the next days. Only Gwen who always kept staying by him cheered him up. Something, Amelinda also appeared and talked to him but she was really busy with her book inside family library. Heracles and his classmates still had basic magic outside but they didn’t study with any person from other families after that and Heracles only met Hank one time after few day in front of the Castle Methonia. His arm was broken and bandaged. Hank didn’t say any word as they met. He strode over them and headed into the castle.

Then another week passed. Heracles planned to go and meet Roger to ask him something. He and Gwen made the way to Amelinda and asked her whether she wanted to go with them or not because he had promised Roger to take her with him when he visited to him the next time. Amelinda agreed to go with them and so they decided to go to Roger’s house in Sunday afternoon.

“You told that he still remembered us and he himself asked you to invite me to his home.” squealed Amelinda on the way

“Yes, he did.” said Gwen.

“I wonder how his house look.” said Amelinda excitedly, “It’s big and convenient as like our place here.”

“It was a small wooden house Amelinda, not like our place.” said Gwen.

“Think it is nice house. I look forward to seeing it.” said Amelinda excitedly.

It took them no much time to come to Roger’s house. From the distance they saw Roger who was staying outside and welcomed them.

“I feel that someone will come.” said Roger, he welcomes them with a big smile. He invited them to walk in. It’s small living room beautiful and cozy inside which Heracles and Gwen had gone before. Chairs and tables there were made of wood while rugs were made of hay that made the place spread out pleasant smell. Roger managed to sit on a chair which looked much smaller than his huge body. Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda also sat on chairs around the table.

“I heard someone told about your mess few day ago.” said Roger looking to Heracles, “That is a pity accident.”

“It’s okay now. It didn’t bother me anymore. Thank you for worrying about me.” said Heracles.

“It’s good to hear you say that. I planned to come and see you but you had come here. And I’m glad you’re all nice.” said Roger, “Ahhh - there have some pastries I just made.” he spoke up, “Wait me a little. I will bring you to taste.”

Roger stood up, happily walked to his kitchen. He came back after minutes, brought a tray with a place of sweet pastries and some cups of milk on. He placed the tray on the table. “It’s great if you drink milk with them.” He managed to put cups of milk in front of them, “Taste them.” he invited.

“Thank you.” they replied.

“So do you find me for something?” asked Roger.

“Yeah, I do.” said Heracles, “There has one thing which had bothered me for a week. Have you ever know about anyone who can do magic without any spell?”

“There have some people who can do it Heracles. They are very great witches and wizards who only focus their powers on their scepters, powerful when their scepters were still on their hands but turned useless as they were taken away their scepters.” said Roger.

“But, why do you ask that?” added Roger looked to Heracles.

“You know about Heracles’s mess.” said Gwen, “but you don’t know that Heracles didn’t speak any spell. We still didn’t teach any spell at the time.”

“God,” cried Roger, “How can that happen? It’s so odd. I have thought that you had had few lessons and been taught few spell before. Basic fire spells are not difficult to study and you can do it after few times trying but it’s very difficult I meant you can’t if you don’t spell. I have never known about anything like that before. I don’t know but it may relate to your scepter.”

“My scepter.” repeated Heracles.

“Yes, your scepter. Maybe your scepter has linked to you in some special way” said Roger. Could I have I look at your scepter?” he asked.

“Of course,” said Heracles, “Nob.” he called. His scepter appeared on his hand. Heracles gave it to Roger.

Roger observed the scepter carefully. “Heracles, can you tell me your emotion the time you use your scepter?” he asked,

“It’s not very clear.” said Heracles, “It’s like feeling threatened.”

“I see your scepter no problem.” said Roger, gave back to Heracles, “If you want to be sure more you should meet with its creator.”

“So we can know exactly what happened only if we meet Ham.” said Heracles.

“I guess so. However, I can be sure it will not have any problem if you use it again.” added Roger, “Don’t be bothered more. Let enjoy my pastries. They’re really good.”

Heracles nodded. He took a pasty and bit. He and his kept staying there and enjoying Roger’s sweet pastries. It was really nice this time. They chatted happily. It was an intimate conversation between friends. Until late afternoon, they asked to leave turning back their dorm. Roger went with them to the door. He didn’t forget to ask them to visit to him whenever they had time. The darkness quickly appeared, covered whole the place. Their figures gradually disappeared in the darkness then vanished. Roger stepped back his house. He closed the door and lit the lamps up.

Chapter 11: The gate (part 9)

A loud bag spread out above their heads. Two hooded cloak men lied quietly on ground. Roger walked to the gallery. “Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda, you all are here. It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.  Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.  “I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda. I need your...

“We can’t ask him.” squealed Gwen, “He is the person I don’t want to tell most. We should find All-For-You shop first and If we don’t find it, we will try to find other ways.” “We have no other choice.” said Heracles.  The carriage kept moving in long time then stopped. “We came - master.” the voice of the coachman coming in. “We Out Heracles.” said Gwen.  Heracles stood up at one. He kept his head down, gabbed on door handle then pushed it open. He made his way step out landing on the ground first, Gwen right after him then stepped aside. He turned to his coachman. “Find the way to park and make sure you can see us when we turn back. We will not here long time.” he said. “Follow your words, master.” said the coachman solemnly. He leathered the horses riding away.  Hurriedly, Heracles and Gwen strode off. They heading to a narrow aisle between houses, where they found All-For-You shop last time. It’s always deserted inside the aisle every times they walked in it and didn’...
