“Heracles, Gwen” the voice of Professor Linus, “How do you explain why are your essays the same?”
“You are so close to each other that you share the other’s ideas.” he sneered, looking at them. “No, we not.” muttered Heracles. His ears went red. Amelinda turned back at one, forced herself not to speak loudly but her voice still in high pitch. “God, why did you do it.” she said. Heracles and Gwen kept silent, didn’t dare to look at other place, keeping their eyes in somewhere around Professor Linus’s desk. Their ears and even their faces went red. All people in the classed looked at them whispered.
“It’s not all.” added Professor Linus, left his desk walking toward them. “Let me read a little from their essays.”
“Lyre, the musical instrument made of god.” he started, “I wonder how much boring of our life before lyres were created. I wonder how people can relieve their sadness, sufferance and even disappointments if we don’t have any lyre here.” He stopped, looked at Heracles, “I can’t stand it though I just think about it. Lyres, the divine instruments spread out music cured people’s souls filled their wounds inside their hearts by great melodies. Whenever, I hear my lyre professor, I seem to sink into the music forgetting all things around and really feel it – Sorry” Professor Linus stopped, “I can’t read more.” he added, “It make me doubt my eyes.”
“Heracles, Gwen,” said Professor Linus turned to them, “Did you feel a little embarrassed as you wrote the words.”
Heracles and Gwen didn’t reply, still looking to the desk. Their ears and faces turned red to purple. The whispers in class turned more loudly.
“Did you think that it would help you if you wrote something to praise me in your essays.” continued Professor Linus, “Yes, I admit that it really worked till I saw your name here Heracles and then found the same essay belonging to Gwen. I wondered why the words could be written by you people who don’t understand a little of lyre.”
“Heracles, Gwen can you explain to me?”
“Anyway, an F for each you because of your great words.” said Professor Linus giving Heracles and Gwen their essay. “Miss Amelinda, please help me to give others their essays.” he added, giving essays to Amelinda. Amelinda stood up, walked out from her seat to give other their essay while Professor had been sitting on his place after the desk reading something. Heracles and Gwen on other side sat down, turning to each other and started whispering.
“I told you it would never work to praise him in our essays.” said Heracles.
“No, Heracles. I nearly work.” said Gwen, “Did you hear him? It didn’t work because our essays are too similar and also because our names are on them. He doesn’t like us.”
“You’re right.” said Heracles.
“Honestly, what did you write in your essays? I’m really curious.” said Amelinda right after she came back her place.
“Keep your curiosity till the end of this lesson, I will give it to you.” said Gwen.
“Not wait to the time.” laughed Amelinda.
“Everyone got your essays?” said Professor Linus, looked over them. “Besides bad writing like Heracles’s and Gwen’s, there have some good writings like Amelinda’s and Adela’s. Anyone who wants to read their essays can borrow the essays from them at the end of this lesson. Now turn back to your lesson. Open your books page sixty.”
The lesson finished after that. People hurriedly scattered. There had only Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda still staying in their class. Amelinda was taking one of essay from Heracles or Gwen reading. “God,” she said, “I can not prevent myself not to laugh as I read those words. Here,” she spoke, “I seem some light appeared around our Professor Linus whenever he play lyre. I wonder whether god Apollo is also like him when he play lyre.” Amelinda stopped she laughed violently, “God,” she hugged her belly, “I can not stop.”
“Come on Amelinda.” groaned Gwen, “Anyway, we have tried our best.”
Amelinda stopped laughed. Honestly, she was forcing herself not to burst into laugh staring at Gwen and Heracles. “Whose idea is this?” she said.
“He.” said Heracles shortly.
Amelinda laughed again. Gwen’s face turned from red to pale. “Sorry Gwen I don’t mean to joke on you.” she said, “but it’s suitable for you to write love letters. I think you will be great in it.”
“Alright, I will help you write a letter whenever you need.” said Gwen uncomfortably.
“Don’t joke anymore.” said Heracles, “We need to go to canteen before all things are eaten.”
They left the class, walked passed their family room before got in canteen. There some people were gathering in front of the bulletin board. Some blue inscriptions appeared on there. It meant the notification came from school board. They stopped, stood still to read the notification.
“Attention” spoke Gwen, “outdoor activities for only first year. According to school tradition and to welcome first year, we always organize an outdoor activity each year. It is called the ten days of natural survival. All details will be notified by your family leader and president. Please meet them to get more information.”
“Ten days of natural survival, what’s that?” said Gwen, turned to Heracles and Amelinda.
“I don’t know.” said Heracles, still looking at the board.
“We will not be brought to some dangerous place and forced to live there in ten days, will you?” said Amelinda.
“I also can happen but I think our Professor will not let us get in danger. Think they will appear whenever we need.” said Heracles.
“Yes, we will know all as we meet Leonard and our leader Oswald.” added Gwen.
Then they strode off heading to their canteen to have their lunch then made their way back to their rooms after that. Heracles and Gwen kept staying in their room sleeping from that. The afternoon, Leonard appeared, notified to all of first year Zeusias that their leader, Oswald would come to meet them family room after dinner and then strode off.
