Chapter 7: The first year outdoor activities (part 4)

“The last person”, “His name is Dylan, very young, just go to Hippocoon earlier than you one year. He is captain of second year Zeusians. He had performed a reckless plan for all us who stand here. He planned to remove other families before the flag robbing game start. I have to admit that he is great captain. Though we Zeusians are not great in hunting, Dylan led his fellows to round and hunt almost of animal in hunting game. Hethyian and Athenena were nearly removed last year but they got some secret agreements with Aresan and then were shared some animals from Aresian. Therefore, they still participated in flag robbing game as usual. At last, with the support of the other two families, Aresian was family win the game. However, we all always appreciate Dylan.”

“I like him Dylan.” said Heracles, turned to Gwen “He had a great plan but he’s not lucky.”

“Yeah, if there didn’t have any of secret agreement, he and his fellows only played the game with Aresan and could win.” added Gwen.

“I prefer Bryan than him.” said Amelinda, “His plan might be not new and reckless but it was effective.”, “Anyway, it also depended on people they had to face that time.”

“Please pay attention first year Zeusians.” said Leonard loudly, approached to the black board he brought to, “There are some rules of flag robbing game and I need you all to know them clearly.”

He kept staying in front of the board writing all the rules on it and repeated many times. Because of it, Heracles could imagine something about the game. He knew that the game would be held at a clearing inside the forest. Each family had to build four tents. One of them was captain tent while the others were called militant tents. Some first year of each family were separated to go and keep staying in the tents in order to protect flags there while the remaining people grouped, made their ways to other families’ tents and rob flags. The flags inside captain tent were called kapetanios woven by gold thread. They brought one hundred and fifty points to the people who could rob each of them from other families. On other side, the other flags inside militant tents were called stratiotes made of silver and which only brought to them twenty points. All flags could be showed, hid or enchanted but were not allowed to bring out from the tents. Each family will have an family capital who was responsible for protection kapetanios but he also could give the responsibility to others. He can leave the captain tent to go and rob flags from other family.

Leonard also told them some other stuff but Heracles didn’t pay attention much because they were not important. When he presented all the rules of flag robbing game, the seniors accompanying with him separated walking toward them converse to find out their abilities and gave them some advices. The meeting only finished at the midnight. They all felt tired, hurriedly left their family room, separated to their rooms. Heracles and Gwen had to force their eyes open till they reached on their beds. They threw themselves on bed and then fell in sleep at one.

The next days, Heracles and other first year Zeusias were not only busy with their lessons in mornings but also they had to participate in the archery lessons of Professor Oswald and the meetings after dinner. Heracles quickly became great in archery he didn’t meet any problem with his bow and always shot to his target. Professor Oswald felt very satisfied about it he gave him some praises front of others. Gwen and Amelinda also got better. Though Amelinda could not shoot her arrows strongly like Heracles, sometime she also shot to her target. Gwen was better than Amelinda in strength. His arrows had much more power than Amelinda’s but of course, not as strong as Heracles. He also could easily shot in his target.

Leonard used to come with some information he spied from other families. It’s not much but really useful information giving Heracles and others names of few people with their abilities. Discussions used to be happened after they got new information and only finished right before midnight. Heracles, Gwen, Amelina and others used to get in their rooms after midnight though the information Leonard brought to them was less and less; and they also didn’t have much idea to discuss after that. The thing lasted for seven days. At last, Leonard decided to stop evening meetings in order to let first year Zeusias have time to relax before the ten days of natural survival started. Heracles and Gwen used remaining time after their morning classes to keep staying on their beds sleeping while Amelinda was busy to do something with Professor Drusilla. Then, the remaining days were also gone.

Chapter 11: The gate (part 9)

A loud bag spread out above their heads. Two hooded cloak men lied quietly on ground. Roger walked to the gallery. “Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda, you all are here. It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.  Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.  “I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda.
