Chapter 9: The flag robbing game (part 5)

Zigzag silver light rays immediately spread out from their scepters flying toward Heracles, Gwen and Leo. Leo immediately jumped up very high. As soon as he jumped, Heracles dropped his scepter down on ground, snatched the wooden box from Gwen and then threw it toward Leo. “Runnnn Leo.” he screamed. A zigzag silver light ray hit on his back. In a moment, a very bright light covered whole his mind then he turned dizzy and everything turned slow in front of his face. Heracles slowly fell. In the moments, he still opened his eyes, saw zigzag silver light rays moving slowly toward Leo who was in midair. Leo somersaulted in the air, dodging the light rays and then grabbed on the wooden box. There had a thud Heracles fell down and lost his consciousness. Heracles didn’t know how much time had passed but when he got again his mind, it had been dark. He and Gwen were tied against a tree at somewhere in the forest while Aresans had vanished.

“Wake – wake up Gwen,” said Heracles.

“Where on the world are we now Heracles?” said Gwen tiredly.

“I don’t know but I can for sure that we were left.” said Heracles.

Heracles broke rope then managed to untied Gwen. He groped on ground and then found out his scepter on there. Fortunately, the Aresans left it before they walked away. “Anavei.” he said. The crystal ball on his scepter lit up. “Your scepter.” said Heracles, picked up Gwen’s scepter, giving him. “Thank you Heracles.” said Gwen. “Do you know where are us now?” he added.

“Don’t know but we will find out soon.” said Heracles. He raised his scepter up finding the way to go. Gwen followed after him. His scepter was also lit up. They kept walking long time but didn’t have any clue to find out where they were. It is too dark there at the moment. Furthermore, they felt tired and hungry. Gwen seemed to be more hungry and tired than Heracles. He could not catch up to Heracles being left behind.

“Gwen, hurry up!” said Heracles, turning back. He stopped to wait for him.

“I’m coming.” said Gwen tiredly. He quickly arrived to Heracles’s place. “Hurry up! We have to get out from of this place.” urged Heracles. He took a look on his friend then turned forward. As soon as he turned, the hairs on whole hiss body stood upright. There in distance in front of his face at the moment was a pair of golden eyes with narrow black pupils staring at him. Heracles could saw it clearly because the darkness. He kept staying, motionless and speechless. Sweat spilled but he doesn't seem to be aware of it. Gwen caught up. He shook his shoulder.

“Heracles – Heracles, what’s wrong with you?” said Gwen.

Heracles got again his mind. He turned to Gwen. “Do you see it?” he said, hinted Gwen to look ahead. Gwen turned back, opened his eye widely trying to look ahead. “What do you see?” squealed Gwen, “I don’t see anything there.”

Heracles gave Gwen an odd looking. The eyes were still the place but why his friend didn’t see. He looked at Gwen awhile then turned back to for sure that the eyes still there and he was not wrong.

“Heracles – Gwen – Where are you?” the voice of Amelinda, “We are here.” screamed Gwen at one. Heracles turned. Light appeared in the distance. Gwen hurriedly made his way come to there. Heracles was a bit behind. He turned to see the pair of eyes one more time but it was completely vanished. There was only darkness. He left. It’s many of light sources there from the crystal balls of scepters and their owners all were their family’s members. They all gathering and left together.

“Where are we going, Amelinda?” said Heracles curiously “It seems not the way leading to our tents.”

“Yes, it’s not.” said Amelinda, “We are going to central camp. The ten days of natural survival has finished. Our professors were waiting for us at there.”

“God,” cried Gwen interrupting her, “You mean that I and Heracles have left our tents for one and a half days.”, “Do you believe it.” he added turned to Heracles and looked him by enormous eyes.

“Not, it not.” said Amelinda, “You just left our tent for half day because the ten days of natural survival finished early than usual one day.”

“Earlier than usual one day.” repeated Heracles.

“Yeah--” said Amelinda, “After the time you two and Leo separated, he succeeded to bring Aresans’ kapetanios flag back to our tents. As soon as I received the flag, the Aresans were removed from of the game. Though Hank and his fellows didn’t want, they stopped attacking us and then left. The Athenenas who at the moment were rounding our tents with them also left and got back their tents. They didn’t turn back. It gave us time to rearrange and prepare for the dinner. We had the dinner as usual and when we finished it, we were informed that Athenenas has given up and our family the winner of this game. We’re really happy. All of us have yelled and hugged each other to celebrate. They even bounced up and down in minutes. But, also when we were happiest, we realize that you both still didn’t come back. It’s too long and you should have come back. Therefore, we decided to find you.”

“How can you find us here?” said Heracles.

“I guess.” said Amelinda, “When we came to Aresans’ tents, it had nothing there. We had wandered to find you but we didn’t see. I guessed that you were only brought to somewhere inside the forest. So, we separated going in the forest. “Thank god we found you here.”

They kept going and at last got out from the woods coming to the central camp. The professor’s tent had vanished there only vacant land remained. It’s very dark. Professor Finn and their leader, Professor Oswald were there standing at middle of the clearing waiting for them.

“Welcome back the first year Zeusias. We are waiting for you. We have to come back to castle Methonia now.” said Professor Finn, “You and Athenas would have one - day party to celebrate your victory. However, I have to leave Hippocoon, so the game will end sooner than planned. Instead, you will have a party tomorrow night with all four families. Professors will organize it for you.”

Professor Finn didn’t explain anymore. He turned, made his way go ahead. He raised his scepter glowing widely to light the way. “Keep follow professor Finn.” said Professor Oswald. Zeusias obeyed. They made their way follow after Professor Finn. When the last of the first year Zeusias walked, Professor light up his scepter and went behind. The lines of people kept going till they arrived to castle Methonia and then they were ordered to return their dorm after that. Professor Finn, on other hand, left that night

A loud bag spread out above their heads. Two hooded cloak men lied quietly on ground. Roger walked to the gallery. “Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda, you all are here. It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.  Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.  “I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda.
