Chapter 5: The Ginseng king (part 6)

“Where is she?” cried Heracles, peeked out, “She has vanished Gwen.”

He hurriedly got out from his hiding place, Gwen right after him. They both looked around to find her but they didn’t see her. They came to place where they saw her standing before but it had no trace there. They wandered there and found in long time but to get nothing.

“It’s getting dark Heracles. We have to get out from the forest before the darkness covers whole this place.” Gwen urged.

Heracles nodded. He took a look one more time then he and Gwen walked back to the walkway and found the way to get out from the forest. I nearly turned dark as they walked out from the forest. Heracles and Gwen could see light from the castle Methonia where they studied.

“I think we should go and tell Roger about it.” said Heracles.

“So, we must hurry Heracles.” said Gwen.

They hurriedly strode along the forest’s edge heading to Roger’s house. They quickly arrived to there. Roger’s door closed at the moment. They knocked on the door and stood still there long time but no one appeared. Heracles and Gwen made their way to look through Roger’s door and window.

“I don’t see anything. It’s so dark here.” cried Gwen, leaning on the window.

“I also don’t see.” said Heracles, looking through Roger’s door.

Gwen stepped down, walked toward Heracles then they both sat down front of Roger’s door.

“What should we do now?” said Gwen.

“Think we should wait him a little.” said Heracles.

“He must be somewhere inside the forest.” said Gwen.

“Yeah,” said Gwen. The place turned silent after that. It was covered by darkness completely. Heracles and Gwen had stayed in front of Roger’s house for long time. It made Gwen turn impatient.

“It’s too late Heracles.” he said, “We must go back our dorm before any of red-armband members discovers we are not there.”

“You’re right. We should get back dorm.” said Heracles, stood up. “Nob” he called. Immediately, his scepter appeared on his hand. “Anavei” he spelled. The crystal ball on his scepter lit up spreading light around them. “Go.” he said. Then they both went straight to castle Methonia. When they nearly came there, Heracles stored his scepter inside his space ring. They didn’t walked straight to their building but to go to Castle Methonia and found the way to their building on the bridge it because that they didn’t want to meet anyone and the castle of course was very deserted at the moment. Heracles and Gwen walked cross few deserted lobbies and staircases and quickly got in the bridge leading to their dorm.

“Hurry up!” said Heracles then they sped up.

“Heracles.” a loud call spread out from their back, “Stand there.”

Heracles and Gwen stopped, looked each other then turned back. Professor Linus appeared behind, was walking toward them. “Where did you go?” he said, “Do you know what time it is?”

“I don’t know professor.” said Heracles, “It’s too dark outside.”

“It is nearly midnight Heracles.” said Professor Linus, staring at Heracles, “You both follow me.” he added turned to Gwen then strode back castle.

“What do we do now Herackes?” said Gwen.

“Follow him.” said Heracles then followed Professor Linus. Gwen walked by him. They came back the castle, followed their professor go upstairs. Later, they came and passed a narrow and long lobby which was lit by little oil lamp hanging on the wall and came to Professor Linus’s office. This is a cramped room having a desk with high piles of book and scrolls stacked on. There had only chair set by the desk for Professor Linus to sit on. Heracles and Gwen had to stand front his desk as they came there.

“So which one of you will explain me what you do outside at the midnight?” said Professor Linus, staring at Heracles and Gwen.

“We just wander professor.” said Heracles.

“Yeah,” said Gwen quickly, “We just walked around and see something before go sleep.”

“Are you kidding me?” said Professor Linus, “walk and see something in midnight. You don’t need to tell me any reason more. Ten points from each one and each of you have to write a report explaining clearly what you do in this night. I want to see you in the next time I go to class.”

“No professor” screamed Gwen, “It’s not fair to take twenty points from out family.”

“No further explanation.” snapped Professor Linus, “You both can go back to your dorm and keep staying in there till your class tomorrow morning.”

Heracles and Gwen painfully looked at the others. They couldn’t do anything else. They both made their way out of Professor Linus’s office room. “It’s unfair.” cried Gwen on the way. “We can’t do anything more Gwen. The thing important now is to find some reasons to make him believe.” said Heracles thoughtfully. Then they both turned quiet thinking. They got in their room after that, silently made their way to their beds not wanting to wake up others there. Heracles lay on his bed and couldn’t sleep, was bothered by the things he saw in the day.

Chapter 11: The gate (part 9)

A loud bag spread out above their heads. Two hooded cloak men lied quietly on ground. Roger walked to the gallery. “Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda, you all are here. It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.  Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.  “I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda. He kept his head down, gabbed on door handle then pushed it open. He made his way step out landing on the ground first, Gwen right after him then stepped aside. He turned to his coachman. “Find the way to park and make sure you can see us when we turn back. We will not here long time.” he said. “Follow your words, master.” said the coachman solemnly. He leathered the horses riding away.  Hurriedly, Heracles and Gwen strode off. They heading to a narrow aisle between houses, where they found All-For-You shop last time. It’s always deserted inside the aisle every times they walked in it and didn’...
