Chapter 11: The invisible powder (part 2)

“We need to try a little to find out the exact recipe.” said Amelinda, sweeping sweat drops on her forehead, looking at Heracles and Gwen by the pair of bright black eyes.

“You still didn’t find out the recipe?” Gwen raised his voice.

“Almost,” she said, “It only mention to main materials of invisible powder inside this book. I have to read some other book and discover some ways to combine the stuff here. Therefore, I need to try a little before we get it.”

“Three kinds of powder are the best. We will combine three of them.” said Amelinda.

“What happened if we put the fourth powder into them?” said Heracles.

“It will make the invisible powder’s effect turned much unstable, strong or weak but mixing up the three is the easiest way to succeed.” she said, reached on the plates and took some of the powder and put it into the pan which was still on the fire. “One part of aconite powder, two parts of chicory and one party of edelweiss.” added Amelinda, stirring the powder inside the pan by her stick. She made the fire off then put in it a liquid drop of something. As soon as the drop dropped on the powder, white smoke burst out. It flew up then scattered away. Heracles looked inside the pan and saw some white powder there.

“Are we successful?” said Heracles

“We have to try first.” said Amelinda then turned to Gwen, “Gwen, give it to me.”

Gwen walked toward her. At the moment Gwen was taking a toad which stayed lazily on his hand. “It will not hurt it?” said Gwen, covering the toad in his hands.

“No, it will not.” said Amelinda, “The invisible powder will never hurt it a little.”

Gwen hesitated a little then put the toad on table. It’s a very fat toad, too heavy to jump away so it kept staying on right the place where Gwen put. Amelinda took a little the powder in the pan then dropped on it. As soon as the powder touched on the toad, a small pop came out with some white smoke. However, no thing happened more. The toad still stood at there, lazily blinking. They kept standing for a while.

“So what?” said Gwen looking at Amelinda.

“We must try another recipe.” said Amelinda. Then, she started mixed other kinds of powder. It took them much time to try. They at last also could find the recipe. When Amelinda took some powder and dropped on the toad, a pop come out with a lot of smoke. When the smoke scattered away, the toad also vanished.

“Where is it?” squealed Gwen. “Where is my toad?” he turned anxious.

“It’s still at here.” said Amelinda, calming Gwen. She reached on a plate, took some green powder on it. She sprinkled the powder on right the place of the toad. This powder was combined by few types of herbs which used to the invisibility. Quickly the toad appeared. It still stood at the place, lazily.

“You also get it. The powder reverses the invisibly.” said Heracles.

“Yeah, it’s easier to create the visible powder.” said Amelinda, “There have some complete recipes presented in the book. We only use it when the Invisibility Powder is not over. Whatever, let try it. It will be fun.”

“Let me try first.” said Gwen quickly. He hurriedly took a little powder in the pan then sprinkled on his one hand. As the before times, a small pop sounded. When the smoke vanished, his hand disappeared.

“God! my hand did vanish.” screamed Gwen. “Do you see it?” he added excitedly, raised the invisible hand, waved in front of his eyes and then waved front Heracles and Amelinda.

“It looked so odd Gwen. You look like a disabled person, no hand.” screamed Heracles, grinning widely.

“It just start.” said Amelinda. A small pop suddenly sounded then many of other pops were right after that. Entire Gwen’s body at the moment was covered by white smoke.

“Why can it happen? All of his body turned invisible.” said Heracles.

“Yes, it have to happen.” said Amelinda, “The invisible powder will make all of your body turn invisible though you put it on wherever on your body.”

“Heracles, Amelinda,” squealed Gwen, “Does any of you see me? I don’t see my hand. Where are feet? Where is belly? I don’t see any of them.” His voice turned much anxious.

“Don’t worry.” said Amelinda, “Just go and tried a little visible powder.”

“Alright, I forget it.” said Gwen. His voice turned normal.

“How long we can turn invisible if we use it?” asked Heracles.

“I’m not sure. It’s about two hours.” said Amelinda,

“It’s enough for us to go and come to Roger’s house.” said Heracles.

“Yes, it’s more than enough.” said Amelinda.

“So when will we go?” said Gwen suddenly. His body turned visible again.

“If you can, I want go in tomorrow.” said Heracles.

“Yes, I can. How about you Amelinda?” said Gwen turned to her.

“I can.” he said.

“Alright, we will go tomorrow but the thing we need now is to clean up everything here and turn back our dorm.” said Heracles.

“Yeah!”

Amelida quickly put the powders in small bottles then stored them in her space ring. Heracles, Gwen on other hand managed to take and brought the remaining stuff away. They all left the place after that.

It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.  Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.  “I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda.
