Chapter 13: The Nemean lion (part 3)

“So do what now?” said Gwen turned to Heracles who still kept his eyes looking inside the cave. “Come in and take a look.” said Heracles then walked ahead. They still saw something at the beginning of the cave because of dim light there. However, the more they walked in, the more the cave turned dark. At last, the couldn’t see anything more. “Nob--” Heracles called.

“Wind Riding--” called Gwen right after. Their scepters appeared on their hands at one. “Anavei--” they spelled together. Their scepters lit up at one. They spread out dim lights around them. Heracles and Gwen kept going deeply for a while but they didn’t see the hooded girl anywhere.

“Where in this cave is she? Why does she walk in this dark cave?” lamented Gwen.

“Stop—Gwen.” said Heracles suddenly, holding him back.

“What happened –Heracles?” squealed Gwen.

“Shhh!” Heracles put his finger on his mouth, hinting Gwen not to say too loud. “I just saw something move.” he added.

Gwen stopped speaking, turned looking ahead. He opened his eyes widely to see through the darkness. There had light sources inside the cave, not far away from their places, which looked like a pair of burning red eyes. The things suddenly moved up. It seemed that the creature just stood up. It’s too high for a normal creature. The creature stood still at the place, kept staring to Heracles and Gwen then it suddenly moved toward them. They stayed still, opened their eyes widely trying to find out what was going to them. The thing still kept its speed, slowly moving toward them. It walked into the dim light area around their scepters. A head of a lion burst out from the darkness appearing at front of their faces. The lion opened its mouth, roared loudly.

“Run--” Heracles shouted, grabbed Gwen’s hand, pulled him running with him. The growls of the lion were right after them. “Speed up--” shouted Heracles again.

“No—Heracles” screamed Gwen. Heracles turned back and saw Gwen had fallen down, lying on ground by his chest. His scepter was thrown far away from his hand while the lion nearly reached on him. “Heracles -- run--” screamed Gwen. Heracles didn’t know to do at the moment, he still stood there. “Run--” Gwen roared again. Heracles ran back, he decided to turn and save Gwen. However, the lion seemed not to care of Gwen who was lying on ground, it leapt up over him, heading to Heracles. “Heracles – run.” screamed Gwen again. “It doesn’t pay attention on me.” he added.

“I will come back.” shouted Heracles then turn his way to run out from the cave.

He quickly got out from the cave, leapt down the ground after step on the rock front of the cave. He kept running for a while then turned back, facing to the cave. The lion had been there on the rock front of the cave, staring at him. At the moment Heracles had time to observe the lion clearly. It’s a giant loin with golden fur, ferocious face with terrifying blood red eyes, and a big mane which made the lion turn more ferocious. The lion had large muscular legs and possesses sharp claws on its feet. It was a powerful and also beautiful creature. At the moment it stayed there, its body even spread out gently golden light. Heracles could see it was a strong and proud loin that it kept its head up, looking down to Heracles from a high place as like a king looking down.

“So you are Heracles?” asked the lion suddenly.

“Yes, I am.” said Heracles bravely, “Why do you know me?”

“Because I come to kill you.” said the lion.

“Kill me. Why do you need to kill me?” squealed Heracles.

“It’s because of your bloodline.” said the lion shortly.

“My bloodline, what’s wrong?” asked Heracles.

The lion didn’t answer him. “I don’t live in this place.” it said, “I come from Nemea. People call me the Neamean lion. You know Nemea?”

“Yes, I know. Some of my friends come from the place.” said Heracles, “But, why do you tell me that.”

“I give you my name before I kill you.” said the Nemean lion. “You can run or face me but no matter what you choose, the result is only one that I will end your life.”

“I will never die.” said Heracles firmly.

“I will try to be gentle with you.” replied the Nemean lion. It began to move, leaping down from its place down the ground. It slowly stepped toward Heracles. Heracles grabbed his scepter tightly, pointing at the Nemean lion, kept moving aside. “Pyrkagia--” shouted Heracles. Immediately, a fire ball spread out from his scepter flying toward the Nemean lion.

“It doesn’t work to me.” said the Nemean lion, didn’t need to dodge Heracles’s fire ball. As soon as, Heracles’s fire ball reached on it, it raised its front foot then slapped on it. The fire ball was smashed at one. Immediately, Heracles pointed at the Nemean lion again. “Gigantiaia sfaira--” he cried. A large fire ball appeared right after that and flew toward the Nemean lion. “I told it doesn’t work to me.” said the Nemean lion then smashed the fire ball. The loin hurriedly moved toward Heracles after that. On other hand, Heracles stepped backward, still holding his scepter tight.

“Gouinmpol--” the voice of Gwen. The Nemean lion suddenly was pushed away. It still stood on four feet but was pushed away from Heracles. There were long scratches on ground which was created by the Nemean lion’s claws trying to keep standing. The Nemean lion turned very angry. It turned back staring at Gwen who at the moment was standing on the stone in front of the cave, still pointing his scepter at it. “How you dare?” it shouted. Then it started roaring. The roar lasted for minutes, turning louder and louder each moment and made the air around wave violently. Heracles felt deaf that he dropped his scepter down, put cover his hands on ears then stepped backward. When the roar stopped, Gwen had fainted. He fell lying down on the rock. Heracles on other hand still kept his mind but his head turned too dizzy. He didn’t know how long time he needed to take again his scepter because he didn’t hear anything and everything and even his move turned too slow in front of his eyes. Heracles forced himself to rush into this scepter but his body seemed not to obey him moving slowly. His mind urged him faster. He leapt to reach on his scepter. He grabbed it and rounded few rounds. As soon as, he touched on it, he could listen again, felt his movements more real. Heracles hurriedly found the way to stand up, ready to fight against the Nemean lion. On other side, the Nemean lion still stood at its place, not moving. “You can’t fight against me by the basic magic. It will not harm me little.” it said.

Chapter 10: I am Heracles (part 7)

“Do you believe me?” said Heracles seriously glaring on his friend. Look into Heracles’s eyes, Gwen had never seen he is so serious. Still kept silent, he bowed his head. “Will you follow my words?” asked Heracles again. “Yes, I will. But, can you behave as usual, Agassi? You make me a little scared.” said Gwen. “Listen to me Gwen.” said Heracles, hurriedly left the bed coming to the clothes hanger, “You’re Gwen and I’m Heracles. They are our names. They don’t change though others call us by anything.” he stressed, his hand grabbed on his clothes and managed to put in it, “It’s very difficult for you to accept it now” he lowered his voice, “but we have been enchanted. That’s why you and even I can not remember ourselves. Now I can not help you to remember all the things right at one. I only can tell you little by little. However, it took us much time while we don’t have. Amelinda is in danger. We have to go to help her.” he turned back the bed giving Gwen his clothes. “Who is Ameninda?

Chapter 11: The gate (part 1)

It’s morning. Sunlight shone to everywhere. Heracles and Gwen were lying on a large round piece of metal meticulously sculpted a hammer and an anvil in the central and snakes winding around. The round piece of metal looked like a trapdoor, very tough and heavy that only people having enormous power could take it up. Heracles was lying on his back and his right hand was holding the sword; Gwen’s on other side lying on his stomach. The helmet was still on his head while the metal shield was brought on his back. Kon had vanished. Heat coming from the trapdoor made Gwen wake up. With wincing face Gwen contorted his body to sit up. Whole his body was in pain as though he had just passed a fight. He adjusted the wide helmet and looked. Beside him his friend. Heracles was there.  “Heracles!” he called softly, gently touched on his friend and not forgot to observe around. Heracles woke. He sat up. “Gwen” he said.  “Heracles - look! Where is this place? Why are we here?” asked Gwen, still kept
