Chapter 13: The Nemean lion (part 2)

Heracles and Gwen still kept going to front of castle Methonia to look to Roger’s house. Each few days they came there one but it didn’t help them to get anything. Roger’s house was still there, shutting the door silent.

One day as usual they came there.

“Heracles! Look!” spoke Gwen, shaking Heracles’s hand then hinted him to look at to a shape of person who just left out of the castle. Heracles realized at one that was the hooded girl who they had been searching for so long. The hooded girl hurriedly strode off, not seeing anything after she left the castle. Immediately at the moment Heracles and Gwen saw her, they followed. Heracles and Gwen carefully kept distance from her. When she reached to the castle’s shield, the hooded girl stopped. She turned back and took a look. When she was sure no one was following her, she turned back then put her hand touching the castle shield. It made Heracles and Gwen very surprised. The castle's shield slowly melted around her hand then a big hole appeared. The hooded girl looked back one more time then she made her way to walk through it. Heracles and Gwen hesitated, they look at the other. “Should we follow her?” asked Gwen. Heracles kept silent in seconds thinking. “Follow her.” he said.

Then they quickly squeezed through the hole before it closed again. They kept following her, heading to the forest and were always ready to hide themselves in case she turned back. However, she seemed to be in hurry that she kept walking, not to look back one time. Later, they all reached to the forest’s edge. She immediately walked in to the walkway Heracles and Gwen had followed her on it one time before that. They kept going in the walkway until she arrived to the place where Heracles and Gwen lost her track the before time. She stopped at there. Heracles and Gwen knew that she would turn back to take a look. Therefore, they hid themselves before that and then peeked out. After the hooded girl took a back look, she reached her hand forward in front of her, muttered something then a ring on her finger spread out dim light. Later, a round black shadow appeared upon ground few inches facing to her. It looked like a door. She carefully took a back look one more time then didn’t hesitate walking into the black shadow. Her body sank into it then vanished. Heracles and Gwen still kept watching. The black shadow was still there, didn’t disappear after the hooded girl left. They one more time had to make a decision. They looked at the other.

“What do we do now, Heracles?” said Gwen, “Should we follow her? I feel it dangerous.”

Heracles didn’t speak, he still observed the shadow. “Do you see it like something we knew?” said Heracles, “It look really like the Shadow-shifter.”

“What?” said Gwen, “You mean--” Gwen looked back to the black shadow which was still the place, “You may be right. I see it is quite similar with the Shadow-shifter but I think it’s not.”

“I see it but I think it also can move us to other place as like the Shadow-shifter. It won’t harm us.” said Heracles thoughtfully.

“You mean--” said Gwen. He stopped, staring at Heracles. “You don’t mean that you want to walk in it, the shadow.” he added. His body suddenly trembled.

“I think we have. Only we could go and find out whole the thing. If we don’t grab the chance, we will never find out anything.” said Heracles.

Then Heracles made his way out of their hiding place. He walked toward the black shadow. “Heracles -- wait. I think we need to tell us to our professors. They will come and handle all things.” said Gwen, his voice turned anxious.

“No – Gwen. I think the black shadow will not keep staying in here for long time.” said Heracles surely, “What we need is to go in it at one.”

“We have to go.” he added. Then he kept stepped toward the shadow and then walked in it and disappeared. Gwen was right there in front of the black shadow. He stood still there, looked around and then stepped in. As soon as he walked in, the black shadow zoomed down and then vanished. Meanwhile, Heracles and Gwen were somewhere in a sloping spiral pipe. They were sliding fastly down following the pile. At last, a round black shadow appeared at midair upon the ground few meters. Heracles and Gwen poured out from the shadow and then fell down on ground. They landed on the ground by their backs. Heracles was the person who lied on ground while Gwen was upon him. “Gwen – stand up. You are upon me.” said Heracles.

“Sorry – Heracles.” said Gwen. He quickly got on his feet, helped Heracles to stand up. They flattened their clothes.

“Where is she?” said Gwen. He looked around and found out that they were brought in deep forest. There had many ancient tree standing around them.

“I don’t know.” said Heracles, watching around.

“Heracles – is she there?” said Gwen in low voice, patted on Heracles’s back. He hinted Heracles to see. The hooded girl was standing not far away from them between ancient trees. Her back turned to them. She kept staying at there in moments then continued moving. She moved very fast heading deeper in forest. Heracles and Gwen hurriedly went after her, kept the distance. It took them a white to pass trees then at last they got out from them going to a wide clearing which was filled full by green grasses.

“Where does she plan to go, Heracles?” whispered Gwen, kept walking by Heracles.

“Just keep after her, we will find it.” said Heracles.

Later, they all went to a cliff which stood at the end of the clearing. The hooded girl walked toward there, stood still front at the cliff in moments. Then she leapt on a big rock emerging from the cliff. She stood still there in seconds then suddenly turned back looking at Heracles and Gwen. The thing happened so unexpectedly that Heracles and Gwen didn’t have chance to hide themselves. They stood still there. Heracles tried effort to the hooded girl’s face but it’s too distant and furthermore the hood almost covered it. Therefore, he could not realize who she was.

“Why does she look at us that?” said Gwen curiously.

“Dunno --” said Heracles in deep voice, still kept looking at the hooded girl. The hooded girl stood there for more seconds then turned her way walking into a large cave there. Her shape disappeared from their eyes after that. Heracles and Gwen were still staying at their places.

“Should we continue following her?” asked Gwen.

Heracles kept silent for a while. “We also can not come back now. Keep following her.” he said. Then he walked ahead, Gwen right after him. They quickly approached the cliff then leapt upon the emerging stone. At front of Heracles and Gwen at the moment was a deep cave which was dark inside. It made them hesitated.

Chapter 10: I am Heracles (part 7)

“Do you believe me?” said Heracles seriously glaring on his friend. Look into Heracles’s eyes, Gwen had never seen he is so serious. Still kept silent, he bowed his head. “Will you follow my words?” asked Heracles again. “Yes, I will. But, can you behave as usual, Agassi? You make me a little scared.” said Gwen. “Listen to me Gwen.” said Heracles, hurriedly left the bed coming to the clothes hanger, “You’re Gwen and I’m Heracles. They are our names. They don’t change though others call us by anything.” he stressed, his hand grabbed on his clothes and managed to put in it, “It’s very difficult for you to accept it now” he lowered his voice, “but we have been enchanted. That’s why you and even I can not remember ourselves. Now I can not help you to remember all the things right at one. I only can tell you little by little. However, it took us much time while we don’t have. Amelinda is in danger. We have to go to help her.” he turned back the bed giving Gwen his clothes. “Who is Ameninda?

Chapter 11: The gate (part 1)

It’s morning. Sunlight shone to everywhere. Heracles and Gwen were lying on a large round piece of metal meticulously sculpted a hammer and an anvil in the central and snakes winding around. The round piece of metal looked like a trapdoor, very tough and heavy that only people having enormous power could take it up. Heracles was lying on his back and his right hand was holding the sword; Gwen’s on other side lying on his stomach. The helmet was still on his head while the metal shield was brought on his back. Kon had vanished. Heat coming from the trapdoor made Gwen wake up. With wincing face Gwen contorted his body to sit up. Whole his body was in pain as though he had just passed a fight. He adjusted the wide helmet and looked. Beside him his friend. Heracles was there.  “Heracles!” he called softly, gently touched on his friend and not forgot to observe around. Heracles woke. He sat up. “Gwen” he said.  “Heracles - look! Where is this place? Why are we here?” asked Gwen, still kept
