Chapter 14: The family torch (part 4)

“I will happen at weekend Heracles. We will the people who light up our family torch. We did win the ten days of natural survival and bring to our family many of points that’s why our family get the most points and so become the family lightning the torch this year.” said Gwen excited.

“It must be the last active in this year right?” said Heracles.

“Yes, it’s. We will leave Hippocoon land turning back our home after that.” said Gwen.

“Oh god, it’s too fast. We have stay here for eight months. I really miss my home.” said Heracles.

“It’s not much time. By this time on next Tuesday we have been in our homes.” said Gwen.

“Heracles – Gwen.” squealed Amelinda, rushed into them from their class door. She just came. “It makes me a little exited as I think about home. Do you plan to do anything as we come home?” she added.

“Just relax enjoying our free time.” said Gwen shortly.

“And you Heracles?” said Amelinda, turned to him.

“I still don’t about it.” said Heracles.

“If you want you can’t read books with me. I plan to borrow some from our library.” said Amelinda.

“God, Amelinda.” screamed Gwen, “Don’t you mean that you will use our vacation to read? Do you want to study whole your life?”

“No, I don’t.” said Amelinda, “I only want to read something in advance before our next year start.”

The footsteps approached. Professor Fidelma appeared at the class door. People stopped chatting, turned back to the desk. They had a basic magic lesson on the day. Professor Fidelma continued teaching them basic spells and asked them to practice. It didn’t make Heracles much excited because there were only healing spelling. He and Gwen tried the spells few times then used whole the remaining time wait for the class to end. The class finished after few hours. Heracles hurriedly left the place with Gwen and Amelinda turning back their dorm. They got their lunch then later scattered.

The remaining days quickly passed. At last, the weekend also came. All people gathered in castle’s hall with professors. The four families stood on their places in lines while professors were on their place sitting on professor tables.

“Everybody pay attention. This is the last active of this year.” said Professor Finn. People stopped talking then turned to him. “A honor for the people to do it lightning your family torch.”

“It’s very long time ago when Prometheus stole the sacred fire of Zeus and brought to people, it was divided in to other fires given to some people who had to swear to protect the fires with their lives. Many years has gone, the offspring of the people still do their duty keeping the fires alive. However, some of fires has died while others seem to be hid vanishing from the world and so the last fire people know still alive now is protected in Hippocoon. Each year, people are allowed to take fire from it one time and light up their family torch. The torch will live in entire a year giving the people health, luck and wisdom. That is why this ceremony is always held at the last of school year. Because, only at the time we can know which family is the most worthy family to have a part of the sacred fire. The family has to have the most points.” Professor Finn stopped a while, looking to Zeusas, “And this year, it’s Zeusa family who did win in the ten days of survival and brought to themselves a lot of points.” said Professor Finn, “Heracles, Amelinda, Gwen – please walk to here.”

Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda crept through the crowd of people waking to Professor Finn. Later, they came to him.

“Professor--” they said.

Professor Finn looked at them warmly then turned to others. “They are people who did lead their family to win the ten days of natural survival. They are the most worthy people to light up their family torch. Do you want to do the thing?” said Professor Finn, turned to them.

“Yes, we want.” said Amelinda quickly.

Professor looked at them, smiling then turned to other professors. “Professor Genevieve – please.” he said.

Professor Genevieve managed to get out from the table walking toward them and then gave Professor Finn a portable torch. Professor Finn received it then gave it to front of them. “Who will do this honor?” he asked, looking at them.

Gwen and Amelinda immediately looked at Heracles. “Do it Heracles.” said Gwen.

“Yes, do it Heracles.” added Amelinda.

Heracles kept silent in moments looking to Amelinda and Gwen. Later, he walked ahead. “I will do it.” he said then received the portable torch.

“You all follow me.” said Professor Finn then turned to others, said loudly “All people keep staying your places. We have to go a little. When we come back, the party will start.”

Then Professor Finn went. Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda were right after him. The kept walked upstairs then made their way into a tower following the spiral staircase there walking to the top of the tower. At last, they came. From Heracles and others’ eyes at the moment was a roof standing upon four pillars which were covered by low stone wall people could look through. Heracles looked far away and discovered that he could saw his family dorm and also other family dorms from the place. It’s really great place to observe.

“Here is the sacred fire.” the voice of Professor Finn. Heracles turned back and realized that Professor Finn had been at the middle of the place. He was standing by a giant fire. Amelinda and Gwen also had been there surrounded the fire. Heracles hurriedly made his way toward them and then stood by Gwen and Amelinda after that. Though the fire burnt fiercely and even nearly reached on him and people there, Heracles didn’t felt he was burnt, just only felt gentle warmth from it.

“Put your portable torch in the sacred fire and then take a part of it.” said Professor Finn, looking at Heracles and then nodded, hinting him to walk ahead.

Then Heracles made his way to walk ahead approached the fire. He put his portable torch into the giant fire. The fire dodged moving around the torch when the torch was put in but later, it caught on then twisted around of the top of Heracles’s torch. Later, a fire lived on the top of the torch. Heracles took it out after that. “What do I have to do next professor?” he said, turned to Professor Finn.

“Do you see oil lamps on the four pillars.” said Professor Finn, hinting him, Gwen and Amelinda to see the oil lamps. “One of them belongs to your family. The others belong to other families. Light up your family oil lamp and it will do the rest for you. It’s your family oil lamp.” Professor Finn raised his scepter, pointed at an oil lamp behind Heracles’s back. Heracles and the others turned back, looking at it. “So I only need to light up it?” he said, turned to Professor Finn.

“Yes,” Professor Finn nodded, “It is what you have to do.”

Then Heracles turned back, made his way straight to his family oil lamp. He stood still there, raised his torch reaching on the lamp. Immediately, the fire on Heracles’s torch moved to the lamp’s wick and then burned fiercely. It nearly reached on the roof Heracles and the others stood under. Later, the fire separated out of the lamp turning to a fire ball suspending in midair for a while then suddenly shot toward Zeusa dorm. It kept flying then dropped down under Zeusia dorm’s roof. It quickly caught on a giant torch there and then burnt highly then spread out gentle golden light covered whole the Zeusa dorm. At the moment, Heracles suddenly had a warm feeling around his body. He turned to look at his body and found out that he was surrounded by the same light which was covered his dorm the moment. Hurriedly, he looked at Gwen and Amelinda who at the moment also looked at him. They both also were covered by the light.

“You all are blessed by the sacred fire. It will give all Zeusas health, luck and wisdom for entire a year.” said Professor Finn in his deep voice.

The light covered their bodies and dorm in few seconds then disappeared.

“It’s over. We should turn back and participate with the others.” said Professor Finn. He made the way to leave the place. Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda gathered then walked after him. They quickly got in the castle’s hall. The lyre music sounded up right after that. Food and drink were brought out. People turned more much noise, enjoying their party. People left the party at the midnight, turning back their dorm room and then hurriedly fell in sleep. The places turned much silent after that.

***

Heracles, Amelinda and Gwen had turned back their homes. Heracles was sleeping on his bed. Suddenly, footsteps appeared. Amelinda broke in.

“Heracles- wake – wake up. I want you to know this thing.” she said, shaking Heracles’s body.

Heracles woke up, rubbing his eyes.

“What happened Amelinda?” he said in sleepy voice.

Chapter 10: I am Heracles (part 7)

“Do you believe me?” said Heracles seriously glaring on his friend. Look into Heracles’s eyes, Gwen had never seen he is so serious. Still kept silent, he bowed his head. “Will you follow my words?” asked Heracles again. “Yes, I will. But, can you behave as usual, Agassi? You make me a little scared.” said Gwen. “Listen to me Gwen.” said Heracles, hurriedly left the bed coming to the clothes hanger, “You’re Gwen and I’m Heracles. They are our names. They don’t change though others call us by anything.” he stressed, his hand grabbed on his clothes and managed to put in it, “It’s very difficult for you to accept it now” he lowered his voice, “but we have been enchanted. That’s why you and even I can not remember ourselves. Now I can not help you to remember all the things right at one. I only can tell you little by little. However, it took us much time while we don’t have. Amelinda is in danger. We have to go to help her.” he turned back the bed giving Gwen his clothes. “Who is Ameninda?

Chapter 11: The gate (part 1)

It’s morning. Sunlight shone to everywhere. Heracles and Gwen were lying on a large round piece of metal meticulously sculpted a hammer and an anvil in the central and snakes winding around. The round piece of metal looked like a trapdoor, very tough and heavy that only people having enormous power could take it up. Heracles was lying on his back and his right hand was holding the sword; Gwen’s on other side lying on his stomach. The helmet was still on his head while the metal shield was brought on his back. Kon had vanished. Heat coming from the trapdoor made Gwen wake up. With wincing face Gwen contorted his body to sit up. Whole his body was in pain as though he had just passed a fight. He adjusted the wide helmet and looked. Beside him his friend. Heracles was there.  “Heracles!” he called softly, gently touched on his friend and not forgot to observe around. Heracles woke. He sat up. “Gwen” he said.  “Heracles - look! Where is this place? Why are we here?” asked Gwen, still kept
