Chapter 8: The village (part 3)

Heracles didn’t talk. He put the baskets on ground then he and Gwen made their way stepped aside. Bernie warily looked on Heracles in seconds. He bent down, grabbed on the baskets then hurriedly strode away, not turning back to look Heracles one time. He quickly vanished from of others’ eyes.

“What do you want this time, Lily? Honey, grains or meat?” said Elder D.

“I will take some grains, Elder D.” said Lily.

“Okay – wait for moments. I will ask people to bring it to you.” said Elder D. He stood still glaring at Heracles and the others for a while then made his way leave.

“Wait them a little then we will go back.” said Lily, smiled.

“Yeah-” said Amelinda standing right by her.

“Lily – I heard you came.” the voice of a woman echoing to them. A headscarf woman appeared, wearing in gray dress, hurriedly walked toward them. Behind her was a muscular man bringing two heavy bags. They quickly go to front of them standing face to face to Lily.

“I bring some grains to you.” said the woman.

“Thank you, Alice.” said Lily.

“So, they are people our children talk about, the children coming from outside?” said Alice, gave Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda a warm looking; it’s too different with the cold looking of Elder D.

“Yes, they are.” said Lily.

“Don’t you mind if I looked through you a little, children?” said Alice. She smiled, still looking over Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda.

“What do you mean?” squealed Amelinda.

“It’s her ability, a gift from gods. She can see the color of your souls. It helps her see a little of your quality and predict your near future.” said Lily.

“She can-” Amelinda raised her voice. She seemed not to believe in her ears because there had very few people and creatures in the world could see through other souls. One of them she knew was the owl of wisdom which she had met at the first time she came to Hipponcoon land and now in the wild place she knew another, Alice. It made her very surprised. Heracles and Gwen were also surprised. They opened their eyes widely looked to Alice.

“Don’t worry. It will not hurt you.” said Alice gently, “I will do it now.”

Then her pupils suddenly turned into concentric circles. It made people turned dizzy as they focused on them.

“Don’t look in her eyes.” recommended Lily.

Firstly, Alice looked at Heracles. She kept her eyes on him for a while then took her eyes to Amelinda and Gwen. At last, she took off her eyes from them; her pupils turned normal.

“Your souls are still bright. Nothing covers over on them. It will never have any bad thing happen to you in short time. All of you are the good children, blessed children.” said Alice gently. “And you – what your name?” Alice looked at Heracles.

“My name is Heracles.” Heracles answered.

“Heracles – your soul is very different. I have never seen any soul like that.” said Alice. She stopped a little to look at Heracles. “A golden light prevented me as I tried to find your soul, too bright to see anything clearly. Of course, I didn’t give up breaking in the light to see you soul. It was not as expected as I saw there a sword stuck in a rock, not your soul. I can sure that the thing I saw is not your soul because souls have the shapes of you. However, it is not thoughtless. It reflects of your future. Sorry but currently I can’t read it.” said Alice.

“Thank you.” Heracles said though he didn’t understand much.

“It doesn’t help you much.” said Alice, smiled then turned to Gwen.

“You are not like him. I can see your soul, boy. It has shape of you but has color of silver. It’s also color of winds. It reflects a little your character. You like freedom, travels, and risk.” said Alice slowly, looked into Gwen’s eyes, “You are very easy to agree if any of your friends ask you to go to strange place or do something new.”

“I like travels and I know it.” said Gwen.

“Yes – Of course.” said Alcie, “Many interesting travels are waiting for you in the future.”

“Really?” squealed Gwen.

“Yes, it is.” said Alice certainly. She smiled and turned to Amelinda.

“You – the only girl - What’s your name?” said Alice.

“My name is Amelinda.” she said.

“You are like the boy - him.” said Alice.

“Gwen?” said Amelinda at one.

“Yes – him – Gwen.” said Alice, “I also can see your soul. It has shape of you but your color of your soul is blue. It is the color of seawater. You are a clever girl and you can study anything if you focus on because your soul has the capacity of the sea. You will reach knowledge that very few people can get. It will help you and people by your side very much in lives.”

“Thank you.” said Amelinda.

Chapter 10: I am Heracles (part 7)

“Do you believe me?” said Heracles seriously glaring on his friend. Look into Heracles’s eyes, Gwen had never seen he is so serious. Still kept silent, he bowed his head. “Will you follow my words?” asked Heracles again. “Yes, I will. But, can you behave as usual, Agassi? You make me a little scared.” said Gwen. “Listen to me Gwen.” said Heracles, hurriedly left the bed coming to the clothes hanger, “You’re Gwen and I’m Heracles. They are our names. They don’t change though others call us by anything.” he stressed, his hand grabbed on his clothes and managed to put in it, “It’s very difficult for you to accept it now” he lowered his voice, “but we have been enchanted. That’s why you and even I can not remember ourselves. Now I can not help you to remember all the things right at one. I only can tell you little by little. However, it took us much time while we don’t have. Amelinda is in danger. We have to go to help her.” he turned back the bed giving Gwen his clothes. “Who is Ameninda?

Chapter 10: I am Heracles (part 2)

The last basket of orange was taken away. The men also vanished with the oranges. There were only children with Heracles, Gwen, Lily and Amelinda. They kept staying around the cart playing and talking. Lily and Gwen enjoyed participating with the children while Heracles and Amelinda seemed to be more silent.  “Agassi, come here and join with us.” called Gwen. “What do you want Peres?” Heracles said loudly. “Come here.” Gwen called again. Heracles left the cart, stepped toward Gwen. There some children were gathering around him. “What do you need Gwen?” Heracles asked. “We are playing a game. Don’t you want to join with us?” said Gwen. “What’s this?” asked Heracles. “Brother Agassi, don’t you see it?” said Gwen. He pointed to straight bamboos. Heracles looked. There had three high straight bamboos standing side by side. The bamboos were about two hundreds of yards away from their places. The middle bamboo was the highest. It’s about one hundred and fifty feet high Heracles guessed. The
