“Step to right a little, Heracles.” whispered Gwen, “Yes, right. Move ahead. Stop- stop, Heracles.” he added then leant face on the window. Suddenly, the window was pushed open. Gwen fell backward and lost balance. He wobbled and then fell on Heracles. They both lied on ground. The window opened completely. A head peered out, looked down and saw them. “What are you doing there? Why do you lie on ground?” a clear voice spread out. Heracles and Gwen looked up and saw a pair of large eyes looking to them. It’s Arian. They still didn’t know how to reply, the voice of her came out again. “What are you doing outside? It’s time to sleep. If you don’t sleep, you will become bad children.” she asked innocently, still looking on them by her round eyes.
They quickly stood up. Gwen flattened his clothes. He stepped ahead. “Hi, Arian.” he said, waved his hand. “We are good children. We always sleep on time. However, my sister has gone to somewhere and didn’t come back in time. Don’t you see her? We want her to go back and sleep on time. We all want to be good children.” he added, smiled friendly.
“I know her sis Amamda. She is kind and beautiful. She had been here few days but now she is not here.” said Arian quickly.
“Where did she go?” impatiently Heracles spoke up.
“There,” said Arian, pointing to the dark forest, “Elder D has brought her to Lord.” she added clearly.
“Oh little sister Arian, you are a good girl. Can you help us to find our sister and bring her back home?” said Gwen with his most friendly smile.
“No, I can’t. The good child will not go in the forest but I know the way to find Lord.” said Arian. She smiled mischievously.
“How to find the place little sister Arian?” said Gwen.
“Go deeply in forest, you will meet silver lights. Let follow them. They will lead you to the place.” said Arian.
“Oh, thank you a lot little sister Arian. You are really a good girl. I really like talking to you but I have to go and find my sister now. We will talk much later, okay?” said Gwen, smiling. He turned his way and hinted Heracles to leave. “Yes, okay.” Arian replied.
Gwen stepped. Heracles also turned his way. Before he left, Heracles turned to Arian and said: “Thank you!” Arian smiled sweetly, raised her hand up waving. “Let come and play with me as you turn back.” the clear voice of her behind.
The shapes of Heracles and Gwen disappeared in dark. Arian closed the window then turned back her bed. She pulled blanket covering on her body then sleep. At the time, Heracles and Gwen reached on the wood behind the village. It’s really a vast and silent forest. Big trees with high and wide foliage blocked almost light from the moon. Everything was covered by silent darkness it made people with weak hearts scare and not daring to move on but Heracles and Gwen still stepped ahead. Using flints bringing in a bag Gwen wore on waist, he found branches and made two torches. Two little fire light up in night. They looked like fireflies from distance. Heracles and Gwen still kept moved deeply in the forest. It seemed there had no silver lights as like Arian said though they kept watching carefully around. Sometime they only saw glimmering light spots blue or red from the distance. They were lights spread out from eyes of beasts living the forests. Though they were harmless, it still made their back hair stood up when they thought about hundred eyes observing on them. Their footsteps were faster. “Didn’t Arian fool us?” lamented Gwen.
Suddenly, a rustle came out from their backs. Gwen turned back at one and caught a shadow flashed past and hid behind a tree. “Heracles?” Gwen spoke up.
“I saw it.” Heracles replied. They kept staying still staring at the tree. There a bit of light spread out. Heracles and Gwen raised their torches highly but nothing appeared after. They turned the others, bowed heads then they both silently walked forward. “Stop there. You are not welcome here. Leave this forest.” A loud voice came out. It was like threatening Heracles and Gwen but it didn’t work the voice was very childish. Heracles and Gwen ignored it. They continued walking ahead. Something white stuck out from the trunk and promptly turned back behind the tree but Heracles saw it seemed to be a kid’s face. “I say stop and leave.” loud voice threatened them.
“Who are you?” Heracles spoke up. He turned to Gwen and hinted him to continue approached.
“I am the boss of this forest. If you don’t leave, you will receive the most terrible punishment.” the voice still came out loudly.
“You are not. I saw you. You are only a child.” said Gwen. He and Heracles had come very close.
“I am not a child.” it said again stubbornly. The voice still spread out behind the tree. Heracles and Gwen looked to the others. They bowed heads then both of them leapt ahead passing the tree, lit on it. However, they didn’t see any child there. Instead of it, they caught a silver shadow sinking in the tree and vanished at one.
“Do you see it?” said Heracles, staring on the tree.
“Yes, I see. What is it?” said Gwen.
“I don’t know.” said Heracles at one.
“Don’t think about it. You will never catch me.” the voice spread out again with giggles behind a tree not far away from it. The giggles echoed to them.
“Who are you? Walk out.” said Heracles loudly.
“Come on and catch me.” it said joyfully.
Turning to Heracles, Gwen asked, “What does it mean?” he said.
“I think it want to play with us.” Heracles answered then he turned to place spreading out the light, “I don’t know who you are.” he said loudly, “but we don’t have time to play with you. We have to go to find our friend.”
Then he turned to his friend. “Go Gwen.” he said. Gwen bowed his head then they made their way leave continuing to walk in deep forest.
“Hey boy! Stay here.” the childish voice was loudly behind their backs. Heracles and Gwen ignore it keeping walking.
“Where are you going? You will get lost if you continue.” it cried but it got no response from Heracles and Gwen. The giggles disappeared completely. An object emerged from the tree. It having the shape of a child and covered by silver light. “Hey! Wait! Where do you want to go? No one knows this forest better than me.” it cried but Heracles and Gwen increasingly left it. Turning impatient, it slowly followed them floating above the ground few inches. “Whooosp!” it sunk into a tree near that and emerged from another tree few steps away. It seemed to have the ability moving from tree to tree. “It’s behind.” whispered Gwen.
