Chapter 9: Who am I? part 5

Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda and Lily kept staying in kitchen an hour waiting for aunt Calliope but she didn’t come back. It’s too late for their dinner. They felt so tired and hungry.

Gwen’s stomach suddenly rumbled loudly. It broke the silence and attracted others’ attention. People turned to him that made his cheek promptly went red. “Uhmm – my stomach, it’s rumbling.” he said shyly.

“We should eat.” spoke Lily gently, looked over the others, “I think mother will turn back late.”

“See what we have for dinner.” added Lily. She stood up, walked toward the fire. Aunt Calliope had cooked everything and left them around there.

“Our dinner is here. Come and help me take it.” she called. She took and raised two plates by hands. Amelinda was the first person who stood up striding to Lily and got the plates from her. Then Gwen and Heracles also stood up to help them. Food and drink quickly were brought out placing on the dinner table. Under flickering light of candles placed the middle, Lily, Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda held hands in a circle then Lily replaced Aunt Calliope praying as usual. Their dinner started right after that. They spent half an hour to finish it and another half hour to clean up everything. They went to bedrooms. Lily and Amelinda separated from Heracles and Gwen going to their bedroom. It’s the nearest room on their way. Gwen and Heracles kept going. They passed another bedroom before to reach on their bedroom the nearest room to their living room. Standing at front of the door, Gwen pushed open it. It’s dim inside; there had only a candle flickering was placed at the table besides the window. As soon as he came to the bed, Gwen threw his chest on it; he stretched forward grabbing on one pillow, pulled it toward himself then laid his face on it. He kept himself that state falling in sleep. On other way, Heracles did not hurry as his friend he found the way walk to bed edge, took off his sandal then pulled his feet on the bed. He lied down; his head put on the other pillow next to Gwen’s.

The night was very quiet too different with noises in daytime. The candle was kept living. It still flickering lit up whole the room; Heracles unconsciously looked on the dancing candle. For moments, he took his eyes off looking through the window. It’s much dimmer outside but still having light from the moon, the half-moon on sky. Heracles didn’t see anything clearly there. His eyes turned tired after minutes. He felt sleepy, closed eyes then gently fell in sleep.

At midnight, a shape of a person emerged from the forest heading forward the house. Wearing in a black long cloak, the person was no one but aunt Calliope. The hood was pulled over her head hiding her face from eyes though it didn’t have any one there in the time. The dark light of the moon couldn’t help people to realize her face, but could not help to see rough wrinkles on her face. Her face had never been in the state; normally her face was in relaxation, gentleness and always with a smile but at the moment her smile completely vanished.

A dark cloud suddenly approached the moon then covered it. The weak light of the moon vanished. It’s completely dark outside in minutes. As the cloud got through the moon and gave back the light, Aunt Calliope had come to the house. She gently opened the door. The candle inside was still alive. Aunt Calliope frowned, narrowed her eyes as the light of the candle shined on her face. She walked in then turned her back to the candle to close the door again. She took off her long cloak, hung it on the hanger standing next to the door then made the way pass the living room and reached on Heracles’s and Gwen’s bedroom first.

Aunt Calliope stood in front of their room. Gently she opened the door ajar, peered in. Heracles and Gwen had fallen in deep sleep. She kept staying there observing them a while then gently closed the door again, walked pass the middle room straight to Lily’s and Amelinda’s bedroom. Grabbed on the door knob she slowly pushed open. The door was opened ajar, enough for her to peer in. She did everything in gentleness and silence, not want others to wake up but one was still awake.

“Where did you go mother?” the voice of Lily came out from the room. It’s not too loud but enough to hear.

“I went into the forest.” Aunt Calliope answered in very soft voice.

“The forest. Why did you go to there?” Lily raised her voice but still kept it in whispered voice.

“I need to meet someone here.” aunt Calliope replied.

“Who? Eric?” said Lily.

“Yeahhh!” aunt Calliope said.

“For what?” asked Lily curiously.

“Nothing. You should sleep. It’s too late.” said Aunt Calliope. She closed the door then found the way to her room which was the room in middle. Went in her room, Aunt Calliope made the way to her bed, sat on the bed’s edge, she took off her canvas shoes. She lied down but she didn’t sleep right away. Suddenly she sighed then closed eyes to sleep. The night was much silent there only had sounds of breaths.

The moon was covered by clouds again. It turned very dark outside. In other room, Heracles and Gwen were sleeping. Though the door and window had been closed, no wind could get inside, the candle flickered violently. It struggled in moments then turned off. The room turned dark completely. Heracles and Gwen were still in deep sleep and had no idea what was going on. A bright spot suddenly appeared on the ceiling. It spread out getting bigger and bigger until it was as big as a large tray then stopped. From the bright circle zigzag rays of light slowly emerged. More and more rays of light appeared after that then merged into a big ray of light, a golden light. Suddenly the golden light ray sped up heading toward Heracles then covered whole on his body. A warm feeling; a pleasant feeling covered entire Heracles’s body and made him awake. Heracles woke up he got again his conscious. He could see, feel everything and hear noises but,

Chapter 10: I am Heracles (part 7)

“Do you believe me?” said Heracles seriously glaring on his friend. Look into Heracles’s eyes, Gwen had never seen he is so serious. Still kept silent, he bowed his head. “Will you follow my words?” asked Heracles again. “Yes, I will. But, can you behave as usual, Agassi? You make me a little scared.” said Gwen. “Listen to me Gwen.” said Heracles, hurriedly left the bed coming to the clothes hanger, “You’re Gwen and I’m Heracles. They are our names. They don’t change though others call us by anything.” he stressed, his hand grabbed on his clothes and managed to put in it, “It’s very difficult for you to accept it now” he lowered his voice, “but we have been enchanted. That’s why you and even I can not remember ourselves. Now I can not help you to remember all the things right at one. I only can tell you little by little. However, it took us much time while we don’t have. Amelinda is in danger. We have to go to help her.” he turned back the bed giving Gwen his clothes. “Who is Ameninda?

Chapter 10: I am Heracles (part 2)

The last basket of orange was taken away. The men also vanished with the oranges. There were only children with Heracles, Gwen, Lily and Amelinda. They kept staying around the cart playing and talking. Lily and Gwen enjoyed participating with the children while Heracles and Amelinda seemed to be more silent.  “Agassi, come here and join with us.” called Gwen. “What do you want Peres?” Heracles said loudly. “Come here.” Gwen called again. Heracles left the cart, stepped toward Gwen. There some children were gathering around him. “What do you need Gwen?” Heracles asked. “We are playing a game. Don’t you want to join with us?” said Gwen. “What’s this?” asked Heracles. “Brother Agassi, don’t you see it?” said Gwen. He pointed to straight bamboos. Heracles looked. There had three high straight bamboos standing side by side. The bamboos were about two hundreds of yards away from their places. The middle bamboo was the highest. It’s about one hundred and fifty feet high Heracles guessed. The
