Chapter 8: The village (part 4)

“It is your fate. I only can see a little of it.” said Alice. “Anyway,” she turned to Lily, “I don’t see any sign of death in their future. Talk your mother - don’t need to worry about them.”

“Yeah – I will tell her.” said Lily.

“Hmmm, it is not the time for you to stay here now. You should leave. When you turn back at the next time, things will be different and we will talk more.” said Alice. She turned to the man behind, “Help them put the bags on the cart.” she added.

“Yes – mistress.” said the man. He made his way to their cart, put grain bags on it then turned back standing behind Alice.

“See you soon.” said Lily.

“Alright- See you later, and including you, children. See you.” said Alice.

“Goodbye you.” said Amelinda.

“Bye – Bye” said Heracles and Gwen.

“Yeah-” said Alice, smiled gently.

Amelinda and Lily made their way to get on the front seats. Heracles and Gwen turned their way, climbed on the cart and then made their way to sit down. The cart moved. It crossed Alice’s face. “Meet you soon.” said Lily.

“See you.” said Alice.

They got far and far away the place. Alice and the man stood still waiting for the cart to go away. When the shapes of them got small that she could not recognize any of them, Alice made her way to go, the man kept behind her. They went toward the houses and then walked in one.

Heracles and Gwen didn’t talk much after they left. They both were bothering what had just happened. Thought the appearance of Alice made them feel relieved, they really didn’t like the way the people living in the village looked at them. Except Alice, others scared them or didn’t like them there. Heracles got more things to think of than Gwen. He thought of what Alice talked to him. He used his mind, tried to contact with everything he had been through but he couldn’t find out any sword; he had concatenation with no sword. “What does the sword mean?” Heracles suddenly spoke up.

“What?” said Gwen.

Heracles turned to his friend – Gwen who at the moment was staring at him by wide opening eyes. “What did you say?” Gwen asked again.

“I was wandering-” said Heracles thoughtfully, “What does the sword signal? Alice didn’t give me any forecast.”

“Sword - it’s the symbol of hero. It may be means about a coming fighting and also can signal for many things but I think that it will not be a bad signal. I heard Alice did say to Lily that we all will be in safe – at least in near future.” said Gwen.

“Yes, I know the thing but you know me, right Gwen? The thing will wander in my mind until I can explain it.” said Heracles.

“I know you Heracles.” said Gwen, reached on his friend’s shoulder, “However there had something we have to find out first – relating to people living here. They seem to have so many secrets and their behaviors are really suspicious. What’s the curse? What made the people scare us too much? Who is their Lord? I think,” Gwen lowered his voice, “Lily and aunt Calliope kept many secrets from us.”

“I know.” said Heracles, kept his voice low, “I think they have their own reason to do it. It will not easy to ask them.”

“Yes, It must.” said Gwen, “So we have to find ourselves. I, you and Amelinda - we need to talk after we come back.”

“Okay – we will talk as we come back and have all three of us I, you and Amelinda.” said Heracles.

The cart did reach to the pasture. Heracles and Gwen could see the house of Lily and his mother in the distance standing alone by their orange garden. In front of the house, someone was standing there. Heracles could realize her. She was no one but aunt Calliope.

They came to the house after few minutes and stopped at front of Aunt Calliope. Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda got out of the cart, stepping on the ground then Lily led White to go to the back of the house. They walked ahead forward to aunt Calliope.

“I know that you have a lot of questions needing to answer after meeting people in the village.” said aunt Calliope suddenly, beyond their expectation “However, you now must be very tired. Think you need to take a rest first. We will talk later.”

Aunt Calliope made strode off after saying, leaving Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda stood there looking at the others in a confusing way.

“What does she mean? I don’t understand her.” said Gwen confusedly.

“Dunno.” said Heracles shortly, still kept his eyes on the back of aunt Calliope. “Do you understand her?” added Heracles turning to Amelinda.

“Just do what she say – take a rest and then we will have the answers from her.” Amelinda replied.

“You sure?” said Heracles, stared at his friend.

“It’s what she said.” said Amelinda.

“Okay, go to our room first. We go.” said Heracles, turned to Gwen and Amelinda.

“Yeah – go to our room.” said Gwen.

They stepped in house. Heracles pushed open the door then they three go in then walked straight to their bedroom. Gwen was the last person who got in the room, carefully closed the door then made his way go to the table placed by the window, sat down with his friends. Meanwhile, Lily had brought her cart to the back of her house, led White inside his cage and was walking in house. She went straight to the kitchen where her mother was after passed the door and closed it.

“Mother!” said Lily.

“Did you meet Alice?” said aunt Calliope. She was cooking something inside a big pot.

“I met her.” said Lily, approached to her mother.

“What did she say?” said aunt Calliope, stopped stirring her pot, turned right, looked at her daughter.

“She said that they were in safe.” said Lily.

“It’s good to hear that.” said Lily, stirred her pot again.

“However, there had one strange thing I think you have to know mother.” added Lily.

“What is it?” said aunt Calliope, still focus on her pot.

Chapter 11: The gate (part 9)

A loud bag spread out above their heads. Two hooded cloak men lied quietly on ground. Roger walked to the gallery. “Heracles, Gwen and Amelinda, you all are here. It is hard to find you” he called up. He hurriedly made the way step down the stairs. Though his body was big and stout, he moved very fast coming to them and froze as he saw a dead on ground. “Who are they?” he asked softly, looking on Amelinda. “This is Lily and - Aunt Calliope.” Amelinda said hesitantly; “She is Lily’s mother. She saved all of us.” she added sadly.  Between curly hair and bushy beard which almost covered his face were warm eyes. She warmly looked on Lily who was sitting on ground holding her mother’s hand. He decided to keep silent, turned to Heracles, Gwen, Amelinda then turned to the dead Hydra dragon which was not far away from them.  “I dont know how you could kill the dragon but there has one thing we have to do before we leave this place.” said Roger calmly, “Go with me Amelinda.
